50 Cent is still paying child support even though the child is over 25 years old. According to an interview he had with The Breakfast Club, 50 Cent is still paying $6,700 a month to his son, Marquise. That’s despite the fact that Marquise is over 25 years old and no longer considered a child.
The drama began back when 50 Cent’s ex, and Marquise’s mother, Shaniqua Tompkins asked for more child support money. At the time, he was already paying her $500,000 a year. She said that it wasn’t enough money.

50 Cent knew she wasn’t working and was just living off the money he provided. He did something that most men tend not to do. He decided to go to court to settle just how much child support he should be paying her.
The court ended up reducing her child support from $500,000 a year to $81,000 a year. 50 Cent said he took himself to child support because Shaniqua didn’t understand that he was already giving her far more than she should get from him.

As he had expected, she and their son started to complain that $6,700 a month wasn’t enough either. 50 Cent said that wasn’t surprising and that no matter how much money he gave them, it’d never be enough for them.
He also said that he always took child support seriously and never missed a payment. Sometimes, that even meant he had to move some of his money around in order to afford the payments.
50 Cent Called His Son Entitled
Now, Marquise wants to have a sit-down talk with his dad. But 50 Cent wasn’t buying it. When asked if he thought the offer to have a sit-down was real, 50 Cent said he didn’t think Marquise actually wanted to talk to him.
First, he said that Marquise was entitled and didn’t have any respect for him. He blamed Shaniqua for Marquise’s sense of entitlement. 50 Cent then pointed out that he had given Marquise over $1 million, and his son still didn’t have any respect for him.
He asked, rhetorically, how much money it takes for someone to have a little bit of respect for you. Clearly, he doesn’t believe his son will ever respect him despite giving him a lot of money.
50 Cent also talked about how strange it was that his son was asking for more child support money despite not being a child anymore. Back in 2022, when Marquise was talking about having a sit-down with his dad, he was 25 years old. He wondered when Marquise was going to figure out life and how to work for himself.
He also said that Marquise and his mother don’t know how to manage money. They had a home in Atlanta, but it was foreclosed on because they didn’t have the money to pay it off. Even though they were getting $500,000 a year, and then $81,000 a year, they didn’t know how to manage their money properly.
50 Cent and his son continue to remain estranged.
