Travis Barker’s ex-wife, Shanna Moakler, had a lot to let out about her tumultuous co-parenting journey with the Blink-182 drummer. During a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s Live, Shanna didn’t hold back, revealing her thoughts and experiences raising their children together.

The 49-year-old former Miss New York USA kicked things off by making it crystal clear that she has zero interest in competing for the title of “Best Parent.” According to her, parenting isn’t an Olympic sport with gold medals for the top mom or dad. She said, “I have no motivation whatsoever to prove that I’m a better parent.”

Shanna struggled to find kind words for Travis, referring to him as a narcissist and explaining how tough it has been to raise their kids together. With their kids, Landon (20) and Alabama (18), along with Atiana De La Hoya from a previous relationship, Shanna opened up about the constant clashes in their parenting styles that led to unnecessary fights.

She said, “I think it really comes from like when you’re dealing with, like a narcissist or you’re dealing with a controlling personality.”

Shanna didn’t stop there. She delved into the additional burden she felt due to societal scrutiny. People seemed to judge her more harshly than they did Travis, constantly labeling her as a bad parent.

“It is a topic that I don’t think a lot of people have really scratched the surface on and really have a clear understanding, and it happens to both men and women, both mothers and fathers,” she explained.

Despite these struggles, Shanna expressed her gratitude that her kids are now legal adults.

Shanna Would Not Comment on Travis’ New Relationship

According to her, Travis used his power and fame to frustrate her efforts as an equal parent, making it seem like they were always in a competition. But Shanna wasn’t interested in competing.

She admitted, “But I gave up. I was never really trying to compete. I gave that up a long time ago. I was like, ‘You win. Like you’re the winner.’”

Interestingly, Shanna mentioned that their co-parenting situation isn’t as bad now that the kids are older. While she and Travis aren’t friends, they manage to communicate when it comes to their children. “The one thing we’ve always agreed on is our kids and the best interest of our children,” she said.

Just when she thought the drama was over, the tension between them ramped up even more when Travis got together with Kourtney Kardashian. However, Shanna had no comment on their marriage, making it clear that she wasn’t bitter or jealous.

She simply didn’t feel the need to address it. “I really don’t have anything to say about it. It’s not because I’m bitter, and I’m definitely not jealous,” she stated.

Wrapping up her candid revelations, Shanna shared that she’s freed herself from societal expectations and judgments. She now lives life on her own terms, focusing solely on her relationship with her children. “I only care about my relationship with my children,” she concluded.

It’s clear that behind the glitz and glamour, there’s a whole lot of drama and emotional turmoil.
