She has married and divorced three times and has two children. Now, she is trying to get sole custody in a complicated public legal battle.
A History of Halle Berry’s Relationships
Halle Berry’s love life is a bit complicated, but it is a big part of her current predicament. She had several bad relationships early in life that ended in pretty nasty disputes.
Her relationship with Christopher Williams notably ended after a physical altercation that caused her to lose most of her hearing in one ear. However, it was later revealed by Eurweb that it was actually Wesley Snipes that struck Halle.
She then got with baseball player David Justice and the two married a year after meeting. However, that marriage only lasted a few years before they divorced. The breakup put Halle Berry in a depressive slump that had a lasting impact.
Her next relationship went a little slower as she and singer Eric Benét dated for two years before marrying. Unfortunately, that relationship also soured. The two divorced after only two years of marriage without having any kids.

Halle Berry’s next major relationship was with a model named Gabriel Aubry. The two began dating in 2005 and had a daughter in 2008.
They never married and eventually ended their relationship in 2010. The pair were at the center of a heated and ongoing custody battle for their daughter.
After the split, Halle Berry married Oliver Martinez. The two had a son together in 2013 and eventually divorced in 2016. Oliver played a pivotal role in the custody battle with Gabriel because Halle planned to move to France to live with him.
Halle Has Faced Numerous Custody Battles
Gabriel fought the move in court because it would limit his visitation rights. According to People Magazine, the court battle got ugly when Gabriel and Oliver got into a physical altercation that sent both to the hospital.
During the scuffle, Oliver made a citizen arrest of Gabriel. This prompted a judge to issue a restraining order to keep Gabriel away from Oliver and Halle. Gabriel later got his own restraining order against Oliver.
In the end, Halle and Gabriel came to an agreement, but Halle had to pay $16,000 per month in child support. However, this wouldn’t be Halle Berry’s final custody battle as she recently got into a nasty dispute with her ex-husband, Oliver Martinez.

The two currently have joint custody, but Halle is trying to get sole custody as she claims Oliver is not following their agreement. USA Today shared that part of Halle’s reasoning for requesting a change is that her son would reportedly “act out” after spending time with his dad. She also claims that Oliver prioritizes sports over academics.
She also alleges that Oliver speaks negatively about her, which they agreed not to do in their court settlement. The two previously attended parent coaching sessions, as stated by People Magazine, but those reportedly ended after Oliver stopped going.
