Billy Ray Cyrus is allegedly insanely jealous of his daughter, Miley Cyrus, and the rumors keep getting crazier. Billy Ray’s ex-wife, Tish, has made shocking claims about him. She’s alleging that Hannah Montana made him even worse.

It was the talk of the 2024 Grammy Awards—or at least one of the things that everyone was talking about. Miley won her first Grammy, and who she DIDN’T mention in her acceptance speech got everyone’s attention.

The Hollywood Reporter was one of the many media outlets to discuss a “possible estrangement” between Billy Ray and Miley and how Miley’s fans picked up on it because of her acceptance speech. Miley didn’t just forget to mention her dad—she joked about it.
She said: “I don’t think I forgot anyone, but I might have forgotten underwear.” That blunt honesty sounds like typical Miley. She looked and sounded fantastic when she performed her hit song “Flowers” on the Grammy stage.
Miley’s mom, Tish, and her sister, Brandi, were glowing when they talked to Entertainment Tonight on the Grammys red carpet this year. Tish also seems happier than ever since her marriage to actor Dominic Purcell.
People.com quoted Tish as saying: “He just encourages me to fly. He is just like, ‘You’re the funniest, you’re the prettiest, you’re the sweetest, you’re the this… just show the world who you are.”
Tish and Brandi Opened up on the Call Her Daddy Podcast
Billy Ray looks so strange these days that it’s gotten some crazy comments on Reddit forums. On the Pop Culture Chat community on Reddit, a thread is titled: “Billy Ray Cyrus please blink twice if you need help.”
One Redditor asked why Billy Ray and Firerose always look like they’re being “hypnotized.” Another joked that Billy Ray “looks like he’s being propped up Weekend at Bernie’s style.”
However, one commenter wondered if Billy Ray’s “blank, emotionless look” is some kind of trend right now. Maybe he is having a midlife crisis, trying to look hip next to his wife, who is 27 years younger.
Tish and Brandi recently appeared on the Call Her Daddy podcast with host Alex Cooper. Tish threw major shade at her ex-husband. She was unbelievably honest about falling out of love with Billy Ray.
The craziest part of that episode was what Tish had to say about Billy Ray’s feelings toward Miley. Tish looked pretty relaxed on the Call Her Daddy couch as she dished on Billy Ray’s alleged reaction to Miley’s Hannah Montana success.
Alex specifically asked Tish about a 2011 GQ article, when Billy Ray alleged that Hannah Montana had “destroyed” the Cyrus family. Alex asked Tish if that was the case.
Tish claimed that her family was in rough shape financially before Hannah Montana. She alleged that she got Billy Ray the job on Hannah Montana, and the show actually saved their family.
Tish told Alex that when Miley got the Hannah role, the casting directors were joking around and saying: “Too bad we can’t afford her real dad.” Tish told those casting directors: “Oh, maybe you can.” She had to convince Billy Ray to audition for the role, but she knew it would allow the family to live together in California.
Billy Ray Tried to Steal Miley’s Spotlight
When Billy Ray appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show, he revealed some things. First, he showed that he wasn’t too hip when he set the record straight on his “Old Town Road” collaboration with Lil Nas X.
Billy Ray even admitted that Tish got him the “Old Town Road” gig, too. He said that Tish told him that Lil Nas X had put the song “Old Town Road” on TikTok, and Billy Ray said to her, “What’s TikTok?”
He also confessed that his role on Hannah Montana got him the gig on “Old Town Road” because Lil Nas X grew up watching the show. Billy Ray never looked like he hated doing Hannah Montana while on the show.
Inside sources have been throwing shade at Billy Ray ever since he did that GQ interview alleging that Hannah Montana “destroyed” his family. After the GQ interview, an article appeared in Us Weekly and set the record straight.
Us Weekly alleged that multiple sources came forward with shocking information. The sources claimed Billy Ray was insanely jealous of Miley back then. If this was the truth, Billy Ray was actually trying to steal the Hannah Montana spotlight away from Miley.
One Us Weekly source threw major shade at Billy, accusing him of “ulterior motives.” Another source alleged that Billy Ray “was always upset he didn’t get as much attention as Miley.” A third insider claimed, “Let’s face it: Hannah Montana revived his career.”
As for Billy Ray, it’s weird how he doesn’t seem to care about setting the record straight. E! News reported that Billy Ray posted a “cryptic message” online after Miley left him out of her Grammys acceptance speech. Billy Ray posted an Instagram photo of him and Firerose with the message, “Love is the answer.”
Miley Is in No Hurry to Burry the Hatchet
Billy Ray posted this on February 6th, a day after Miley went on Instagram with more shout-outs after her huge victory at the awards show.
Once again, Miley did not mention her dad. It’s getting to the point that fans think she’s in no hurry to bury the hatchet between them. Miley wrote: “To my mommy @tishcyruspurcell, I love you more than anything in the entire universe.”
Miley also thanked her sister, Brandi, and her famous godmother, Dolly Parton. She wrote to Dolly, “I felt your fairy dust everywhere.”
Tish talked about love on the Call Her Daddy podcast, but once again, she seemed to be throwing shade at Billy Ray’s idea of what love is. She told Alex that she learned what real love is from her parents. Tish said: “I never saw them disrespect one another ever.”

Tish also claims that “there’s not one second” she doesn’t feel loved by Dominic. Shockingly, Tish has revealed to other sources that Billy Ray wasn’t faithful to her during their marriage.
While Brandi didn’t come right out and say it, she came pretty close to siding with Tish on the Call Her Daddy podcast. Brandi told Alex: “I never first-hand saw anything go down by any means.” But she did admit that she was in New York once when Billy Ray was doing Broadway.
She shockingly said: “It opened my eyes to see some of the things that he was doing.” Brandi confessed: “It was hurtful to see him doing it to her. It was hurtful to see him hiding it from me.”
