Liz Johnston recently announced that her relationship with Brice Bolden was over. On the season 14 premiere of 7 Little Johnstons, she revealed why she decided to break up with him.
Liz admitted during a confessional scene that she and Brice were no longer together. But immediately after she said that, her eyes filled up with tears and her voice began to tremble.

Liz was clearly feeling overwhelmed by talking about the emotional update. She asked a producer if she could take a minute to regain her composure. She went into another room to try to calm down.
When Liz returned, she explained that she and Brice were “separated,” and they weren’t living under the same roof anymore. It turns out that shortly after they moved in together, their relationship started going downhill.
Liz Wants a Marriage Like Her Parents Have
Liz felt like she and Brice were more like roommates than romantic partners, and she “could not live like that.” She realized she couldn’t keep trying to stay in the relationship. It didn’t feel like there was any love, or even a spark, between them anymore.
Liz added that her parents had always been able to keep their marriage going. They’d been together for more than 20 years.
She confessed that she had grown up seeing their special connection. She knew she wanted to have a marriage like theirs someday.

But that wouldn’t be possible if Liz was with someone who seemed to be indifferent about being with her. She claimed she wasn’t the kind of person who would be happy staying in a relationship that was only mediocre.
When a producer asked Liz how she’d been feeling after splitting from Brice, she replied that she had been dealing with “a lot of emotions.” But even though she had been the one to initiate the breakup, she admitted that she mostly felt really angry.
Liz explained that Brice “was a genuinely good guy.” She was upset because of how unexpectedly their relationship had changed. She tried talking to him about how she hadn’t been feeling very loved, but it didn’t make a difference.
Liz claimed that she had been doing everything she possibly could to make her relationship with Brice work. But none of her efforts seemed to help, which led to her feeling exhausted and depressed. After she realized that her mental health was being affected, she ultimately made the tough decision to separate from Brice.
Liz and Brice Have Continued Posting Together
But in the trailer for season 14, Liz announced that she and Brice were expecting a baby together. Last November, their rep confirmed to People magazine that they had welcomed their daughter, Leighton Drew Bolden, to the world.
Over the last few months, Liz and Brice have been sharing updates about Leighton on social media, and they appear in each other’s posts pretty frequently. Neither of them has clarified whether they ended up getting back together, or if they’re still broken up and strictly co-parenting their baby girl.

However, Liz’s current profile picture on Instagram is a photo of her, Brice, and Leighton wearing matching pajamas. She and Brice have posted several “family” photos since their daughter was born, and they’ve been tagging each other’s accounts in those updates.
At the end of January, Liz revealed in an Instagram post that she was about to return to work because her maternity leave was over. She also referred to Leighton as “our sweet baby girl,” which seemed to suggest that she and Brice were back together.
In the comment section, Brice wrote: “The best mom ever! Can’t wait to see what the future holds for us and our daughter.” It definitely seems likely that he and Liz have reconciled their relationship, but they probably aren’t allowed to reveal the truth about it quite yet.
TLC executives wouldn’t be happy if any major details or storylines from the newest season of 7 Little Johnstons were to be spoiled. It looks like we’ll just have to wait and see if Liz and Brice explain where their relationship stands in an upcoming episode.
