Amy King (nee Duggar) took to TikTok to tell the world that she doesn’t want her uncle, Jim Bob Duggar to see her child any longer. The Duggar family rose to prominence as the subjects of the TV show “19 Kids and Counting”, which ran from 2008 to 2015 on TLC.
It followed the life of Jim Bob Duggar, his wife Michelle, and their 19 children. The oldest child, Josh, was born in 1988, and then youngest, Josie, was born in 2009. However, the show came to an abrupt end in 2015, when the news broke that the oldest son Josh had molested multiple girls (including a few of his siblings) when he was a young teenager.
It was a major news story and led not only to the cancellation of the show, but also led to Josh being among the most hated individuals on the internet.
Jim Bob Duggar Knew About Josh’s Shocking, Disturbing Actions
However, a spin-off called “Counting On” ended up airing near the end of 2015, and featured the entire family, except for Josh. But a few years later in 2021, this show was also cancelled when Josh Duggar was arrested on child pornography offenses. He ended up being given a prison sentence of over 12 years and over $50,000 in fines.
His father Jim Bob testified during the trial and said that Josh had come to him and his wife back in 2002 to let them know of his actions, but he didn’t remember the exact wording his son used. He claimed Josh said that he touched the girls on their chests as they slept, but they didn’t wake up.
Amy King Duggar Said ‘You Don’t Recall Your Daughters’ Abuse?’
After Jim Bob kept this to himself all these years, his niece Amy said that she would keep her son away from her uncle and was no longer comfortable with him seeing them. For those unfamiliar, Amy is the daughter of Deanna Duggar, who is Jim Bob’s sister.
In the TikTok video, Amy said:
“If you’re not going to protect those beautiful daughters from a predator that was living inside of your home and you knew about it, and you’re gonna sweep it under the rug and your mentality is kinda just to brush it off and to hide it and to lie, not only do I not respect you anymore, but I also don’t want to give you a right to get to know my child. Because I will protect my child at all costs.””
She also added:
“Forget all the other stuff, just focus on the fact that the abuse was hidden,” King continued. “And then [Jim Bob] was put on the stand and then he said, ‘Oh, judge I don’t recall.’ You don’t recall your daughters’ abuse? You don’t recall that?”
Amy posted the video less than a week after the release of “Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets” on Amazon Prime Video. This documentary series goes through the family and its concerning ties to a radical religious organization called the Institute in Basic Life Principles.
