Angela Simmons and Yo Gotti’s relationship seems perfect on the surface. But is it actually that good?
Ever since Angela Simmons and Yo Gotti hard-launched their relationship on Instagram in January 2023, everyone has been hooked. Angela shared pictures of herself all glammed up in a black sparkly gown.
Yo Gotti was there, too, in a matching black suit. They were sitting in a Rolls-Royce.
In the caption, Angela wrote: “You are all I need and more.” Of course, the post went viral.
Everyone was shocked that the pair were dating because it took 8 years for Angela to finally accept Yo Gotti’s love.
In a way, it was kind of romantic, though. At the same time, some people found the timing of her acceptance suspicious and decided to dig into Angela’s affairs. You’ll never believe what they found.
Apparently, Angela had been ordered to pay a $48,000 fine by a judge for back rent, bills, and other housing costs for her allegedly abandoned apartment in New Jersey. The landlord of the place stated that he lodged several complaints about the payments, but she had been ignoring them.
He stated that she rented the place in October 2019 and stopped paying her bills as far back as 2020. So, eventually, he took Angela to court in 2023. It was coincidentally the same year that Angela started dating Yo Gotti.
Some people seem to think this wasn’t just a coincidence. In fact, they believe it may have influenced her decision to date Yo Gotti.
One viral comment said Yo Gotti could pay for it and Angela shouldn’t worry. Many people supported this by saying her man had the money. Another person commented that this was the real reason Angela got together with Yo Gotti.
Their Relationship Started with a Song
Although there’s no evidence to back these comments and speculations, everyone sort of agreed that the timing of the whole thing was a little strange.
The relationship between the two dates back to 2015, when Yo Gotti released his track “Down in the DM.” He publicly expressed that he had a crush on Angela in the lyrics of his song. It was honestly kind of sweet.
Unfortunately, Angela didn’t seem to think so. She didn’t even acknowledge his public confession after it went viral.
In fact, just three months after Yo Gotti’s confession, she began dating Sutton Tennyson. Photos of them at a party together surfaced, and it was confirmed that Angela was no longer single.
About four months after this, she revealed that she was pregnant and engaged. This came as a pretty big shock because not too long before this, Angela revealed that she was celibate and waiting for marriage. Apparently, she went back on her word.
Still, her announcement didn’t seem to reduce the intensity of Yo Gotti’s feelings for her. In 2017, he released another track dedicated to Angela.
This time around, his lyrics called out Angela for getting engaged to Sutton. He claimed that he wanted her more than Sutton did, and it looks like he might’ve been right.
Insanely, just two months after Angela got engaged, a woman came forward alleging that she was Sutton’s mistress. She even provided evidence of their affair to Fameolous.
Despite all that, Angela stayed with Sutton after the news broke. The two also moved forward with their marriage plans. In September 2016, Angela gave birth to their son, Sutton Joseph Tennyson Jr.
Sutton Passed Away in 2018
Everything looked perfect for her, and everyone thought that the Yo Gotti chapter was closed. However, in December 2017, Angela called it quits with Sutton publicly on Instagram. In her interview with The Breakfast Club, she stated that her reason for the breakup was that she couldn’t change anyone.
The breakup got people’s hopes up that she might decide to get with Yo Gotti. But everyone was disappointed for the second time when Angela revealed her new partner in July 2018.
She and former Chicago Bears linebacker Khalil Mack were spotted at a mall together enjoying a fun day out. However, they broke up shortly after.
Sadly, at around the same time, Angela’s ex-fiancé Sutton was involved in a violent incident that resulted in his passing. This led her to take a break from relationships and leave the public eye for some months.
The next time she was spotted, it was reported that she was again seeing someone who wasn’t Yo Gotti. She was spotted walking hand in hand with Atlanta music producer London On Da Track AKA London Tyler Holmes.
Their relationship went viral, with a lot of people wondering how she managed to move on so fast from the passing of the father of her child. However, it was later claimed that they weren’t dating.

Angela shared photos of herself with Daniel Jacobs in a boxing ring on Instagram with a sweet caption about how she was only about him. She even mentioned him in an episode of Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta and said the sweetest things about their relationship.
For a while, it seemed like things were becoming pretty serious between them. But after just six months, Angela unfollowed Daniel on Instagram and deleted all the photos of them together from her page.
While she was going through all these relationships, most people gave up hope of her ever getting together with Yo Gotti. So, when we saw the photos of them all glammed up together in a Rolls-Royce, it was almost unbelievable that it finally happened. Yo Gotti also shared a picture of him holding Angela from behind while she leaned on the car.

A cute loved-up photo of them in matching black Adidas outfits sitting courtside at a basketball game had everyone gushing about them. They even wore matching silver jewelry to go with their outfits.
As if that wasn’t enough, they again wore matching outfits to the Grammys. Angela posted a photo of the two of them on her Instagram with a sweet caption that stated that Yo Gotti was the best man for her.
Yo Gotti Continues to Write Music About Her
Her caption resulted in people asking questions about why she waited eight long years to date him when he was the best man for her. So, when the scandal about the late payments on her abandoned apartment came up, some people thought that this could have something to do with it.
However, neither Yo Gotti nor Angela have openly talked about this. Instead, Yo Gotti released a song about her titled ‘The One.’ She actually even appeared in the music video.
The video showed them in luxurious locations like Dubai and Greece, with Yo Gotti professing his love for her through his lyrics. He sang about how she gave him butterflies. It was so romantic and dreamy.
A source even told US Weekly that the couple were happier than ever. Angela really supported Yo Gotti while he was making his recent mixtape.
Yo Gotti also went all out for her 36th birthday in September 2023. He shared a video of her admiring the display of pink roses, Chanel boxes, and white candles that he prepared for her.
In the background, there was a saxophone player serenading her in a beautiful location. Yo Gotti also shared a video of them having dinner at the beach with beautiful pink and gold decorations.
