Willie and Korie Robertson’s youngest daughter, Bella, married Jacob Mayo at the family’s “grand mansion” in Louisiana. When we say youngest daughter, Bella was only 18 when she said, “I Do” to 21-year-old Jacob. Now, fans are wondering if Bella and Jacob are still together.
Media outlets published updates on the whole Robertson clan as recently as May 2024, but few specific details on Bella and Jacob have been reported.
Wedding Bells
On June 10, 2021, People.com described the “grey skies” on the morning of Bella’s wedding. However, according to People, there turned out to be “a weather miracle” because “the rain stopped just in time” for the ceremony. People did admit that it started pouring again after the reception.
Three weeks before the wedding, Willie and Korie set the record straight on their Facebook series, “At Home With the Robertsons.” Shockingly, Korie revealed that Bella “was getting a little bit of flack” on social media for getting married at 18 to a guy she hadn’t even known for a year.
At the beginning of this video, Korie also mentioned how “weird” it was to read everyone’s “opinions” online about Bella and Jacob being too young to get married. Then, Bella and Jacob discussed the twisted social media reactions to their upcoming marriage.
Rumors Swirling
Shockingly, Bella repeated what one internet troll wrote. They predicted that her marriage would last “maybe five years,” and the troll joked that they were putting money on it failing.
Jacob and Bella also mentioned reading rumors that she was already pregnant and that it was a shotgun wedding. Still, a Fox News Exclusive from the previous December had already shot that rumor down.
Fox News wrote that Bella and Jacob got engaged “the day after Thanksgiving.” Jacob proposed to her “in a barn,” and if that doesn’t sound too romantic, Fox described how Jacob “decked [it] out to pop the question.”
Taste of Country reported in May 2024 that Bella had graduated from Liberty University. They also mentioned that she got married to Jacob, but they didn’t mention a breakup.
However, Taste of Country didn’t have much more to go on. They wrote, “It’s not clear what [Bella’s] next career or personal move will be.” Does that mean that Bella’s marriage is up in the air?
Marriage Counseling
Bella and Jacob sat down together on that episode of “At Home With the Robertsons.” Remember, this was just under a month before their wedding, and Jacob revealed that he and Bella had already started “marriage counseling.”
Jacob noted that one important thing he’d learned in marriage counseling was to “keep it personal” between him and Bella and not let “outside” rumors and influences distract them from what’s really important in their life and relationship.
Fox News asked Bella what she would like to say to anyone who thought “18 is really young to get engaged.” It definitely is, but shockingly, this pattern runs in the Robertson family, and Bella grew up thinking there was nothing wrong with it.
People.com reported on what Jacob said on social media after he got engaged. He wrote on Instagram, “Bella is many things to me,” including his “best friend.”
Jacob loved how he could “lean on” Bella to help solve “any problem with no judgment.” He also revealed that Bella made him see the “honest truth” whenever he was “acting out.”
He wrote that Bella loves him “unconditionally,” whether he did “what she likes or the opposite side of the spectrum.” Jacob sweetly proclaimed that Bella is “the one for me forever. She’s my everything. I thank God for her.”
Bella also told Fox how being vulnerable with Jacob and strong in their faith really pulled them “out of hard things.” She confessed that once they “started talking about it, it became a big step for us to connect.”
