Julie Chrisley will reportedly celebrate her 51st birthday with her family despite still being behind bars.
People Magazine reported that a source had confirmed to the outlet that Julie would be allowed a special visit from her daughter Savannah at her prison facility in Kentucky. Savannah will also allegedly be joined by her younger siblings Grayson and Chloe.
The Chrisley family’s attorney, Alex Little, also told People that Julie was “hopeful” about her future prospects. The lawyer said, “Julie is strong and optimistic and certainly doesn’t want to be behind bars for her birthday.” He went on to add, “But she’s hopeful that with the appeal, this will be the last birthday” that she has to celebrate from prison.
Todd and Julie Were Originally Sentenced in November 2022
People reported that there had been “no real update” on the long appeal process ahead of Julie. Alex noted that some important dates had been changed. He claimed that the date for Julie and her husband Todd’s oral arguments had been moved from March to April this year.
He explained that “it’s like a Supreme Court arguing with different judges. So it’s just the judges and the lawyers.”
Julie and Todd were sentenced in November 2022 for tax evasion and fraud. Julie received a seven-year sentence, while Todd was originally hit with 12 years.
However, it was reported in September last year that Todd had had his sentence reduced by two years, meaning that he is currently due to leave the Federal Prison Camp Pensacola in January 2033. Julie also had her sentence shortened by 14 months. She is currently set to leave jail almost 5 years earlier than her husband.
In May last year, Savannah opened up about her parents’ experiences in jail during an episode of her Unlocked podcast. She said that it was “definitely harder” for her mom to serve time than her dad.
Savannah said that to get through it, Julie was “just staying busy”, for example by taking classes in jail. She also said that her mom was trying to focus on her health.
Julie Hopes to Spend Her Next Birthday in the Outside World
Both of Savannah’s parents started the process of appealing their case in December 2022.
In November last year, Savannah shared a positive update on their appeal, in which she revealed that their oral arguments had been granted by the appeals court. Savannah was clearly emotional while giving the news, as she said that the Chrisley family was “one step closer to getting mom and dad home.”
Savannah shared the update in a video uploaded to her Instagram page. She also noted in the video that “only about 6 percent of cases that are submitted for oral arguments get accepted.”

Julie and Todd were indicted in August 2019 on 12 counts of bank and wire fraud, tax evasion, and conspiracy. They have both denied all of the charges put against them. Their trial lasted almost three weeks before they were sentenced to a combined 19 years in prison.
Despite her incarceration, Julie has continued to feel the support of her children. If her hopes come true, she will be able to celebrate her 52nd birthday with them in the outside world.
