On March 18th, the U.S. Sun alleged that Bruno Mars may be close to racking up “a $50 million gambling debt” at MGM Casino properties in Las Vegas. The Sun alleged that the source who revealed Bruno’s gambling issues is a “well-placed Vegas insider,” and the source claimed that Bruno’s mountain of debt has steadily built up over the years.

Bruno is 38 years old. He’s currently in the ninth year of a Vegas residency, with performances scheduled into April 2024 at MGM’s Park Theater. News Nation reported that Bruno is paying off that huge gambling debt “directly to the casino.” Their source—the Vegas insider mentioned by the Sun—claimed that MGM “basically owns” Bruno at this point.
Still, the source alleged that Bruno’s take-home pay is around “$1.5 million per night.” The total value of his residency is claimed to be $90 million, but that’s before he pays off his debt to MGM and also the taxes taken off his earnings.
Bruno Is Facing Relationship Issues
News Nation alleged that Bruno once supported himself as a “professional poker player.” But according to their source, Bruno “needs to lay off the slots.” The Vital Vegas website heard something different from another source who claimed that Bruno is “an avid blackjack enthusiast, although not particularly good at actually winning.”
In a post on X (Twitter at the time of posting in May 2019), Vital Vegas claimed, “It’s well-known that Bruno Mars likes gambling,” although they alleged he “may be in the middle of a cold spell.” Vital Vegas also wrote, “Million-a-night swings aren’t uncommon for high rollers” like Bruno.
News Nation reported that Bruno “lives for free” during his Vegas residencies. In their opinion, he “should be taking home (or saving) a lot more than he has” since he began his MGM contract in 2016.

The Sun also claims that Bruno is suffering from relationship issues, specifically a strained partnership with his long-time girlfriend, Jessica Caban. In 2016, around the time he began his Vegas residency, the Sun reported that Bruno talked about his love for Jessica in an interview. But when the interviewer allegedly asked Bruno “whether he would propose,” the Sun reported that Bruno gave a shocking answer.
Allegedly, Bruno said that Jessica was his “best friend” and his “rock.” He never indicated that a proposal was coming, and Bruno asked, “What’s wrong with that? We’re just happy.”
The Couple’s Romance May be “Fizzling Out”
Bruno and Jessica have reportedly been a couple since 2011. Still, the Sun alleged that they spent “Christmas and New Year’s Eve apart” last year and at other times over the last few years, Bruno’s “busy touring schedule” has kept him away from Jessica.
The Sun also spoke with an alleged “friend” of Bruno and Jessica, who made a shocking claim about the “really sad” state of their relationship. Allegedly, Bruno is reluctant to “get serious” with Jessica and “tie the knot.” The source told the Sun, “Bruno and Jessica barely spend time together anymore.”

The source also claimed that Bruno and Jessica “are living separate lives,” and they believe that “doesn’t bode well for their relationship.” According to the source, Jessica and Bruno’s romance is “fizzling out.”
The source claimed that “they have so much history together,” it’s uncertain if the couple “will be able to save things this time.” Sadly, the source believes it would “be hard” for Bruno and Jessica to break up, but they claimed, “Perhaps it’s for the best at this point.”
News Nation reported that MGO has partnered with Bruno on casino concepts despite his allegedly huge gambling debt. This partnership includes a new lounge at the MGM-owned Bellagio Hotel and Casino called The Pinky Ring. News Nation reported that The Pinky Ring debuted over the Super Bowl weekend in 2024, and they claimed that Bruno is developing “another project” with MGM.
According to News Nation, the alleged “feud” between Bruno and his Silk Sonic partner Anderson Paak has also been resolved. An insider told News Nation that the feud “was about money of course,” but now that the feud is allegedly over, Silk Sonic has scheduled performances at the Park Theater beginning in May 2024.
