Cameron Diaz isn’t letting age stop her from becoming a mother again. According to Cameron’s Instagram page, she welcomed a new baby at the end of March. The post showed a drawing and painting with the words “A little bird whispered to me” on it.
In the caption, Cameron said that she and her husband, Benji Madden, had welcomed a son into their family. They named him Cardinal, and according to Cameron, he’s very cute.

Fans wanting to see the new baby will have to wait, however. Cameron added that she wouldn’t be sharing pictures of her kids just yet for their safety and privacy. She finished the post by saying she was feeling grateful for their new arrival and gave best wishes to everyone.
Cardinal is the second child that Cameron has with Benji. The couple tried to conceive a child through traditional means, but they were unable to find success. They even tried to get help with fertility treatments like acupuncture, supplements, and IVF.
They finally decided to use a surrogate to have their first daughter and then did the same thing for their second child. Their first child, Raddix, was born in 2019, and Cameron also shared the news via Instagram. At the time, she again made the decision to hold off on sharing photos of Raddix until she was older.
Benji Composes Songs for the Kids
There’s no doubt that Cameron has enjoyed being a mother, either. During an interview with Jimmy Fallon, she talked about what it was like to be a new mother.
Lockdowns for COVID-19 were happening at the time, so Jimmy asked her what life was like in lockdown with her new daughter. Cameron said it was the best time because she loved spending time with Raddix.

She also said that those people who say time goes by so fast when the kids are babies were right. She explained that her daughter was growing, changing, and learning so fast that she was always a completely new baby by the next day.
When Jimmy asked about how Benji was doing as a father, she said that he was the best father. Benji is the lead guitar and backup vocalist for the band Good Charlotte. He also sings with his brother, Joel Madden, on other projects.

Being a musician, Benji has composed songs just for his kids. Cameron said that she often sings his songs, too, because they’re special and meant just for their children. Cameron finished by saying that having their daughter was the best thing that had happened to her and her husband.
She and Benji got married in 2015 after dating for a year. They formally met after Cameron threw a dinner party for his brother, Joel, and his wife, Nicole Richie. Cooking is still an important part of their family life to this day, too.
Although the couple often receives invitations for parties or other activities, they’ve reached a point where they prefer to stay home. Cameron says her favorite way to wind down at night is to cook and have a glass of wine while enjoying whatever show she’s watching at the moment. With another child to add to the mix, their family life has become even more special.
