Carrie Underwood is allegedly hiding her kids. Sources with inside knowledge know the real truth, and they’re setting the record straight on why Carrie is such a protective mom.
Carrie shocked her fans in January 2023 when she posted on social media that someone had gone missing at home. Luckily, she wasn’t talking about one of her sons going missing. But she still sounded like a relatable mom when she complained that she kept losing half of everyone’s socks while doing the laundry.
Carrie and her husband, Mike Fisher, welcomed their oldest son, Isaiah, on February 27, 2015. After some heartbreaking struggles to get pregnant again, their second son, Jacob, was born on January 21, 2019.
Hello! Magazine’s online edition reported that Carrie prefers to keep her kids safe at home while on tour. Carrie and Mike believe that this gives their kids a better routine and more stability.

But sometimes, Carrie makes exceptions—and she set the record straight about life on tour during a TV interview in London, UK, in 2022. Carrie appeared on the popular Lorraine show in the UK and talked about her sons. In the interview, there was a picture of Carrie’s boys wearing little jackets from her Reflections residency in Las Vegas, but you couldn’t see Isaiah or Jacob’s faces.
Closer to home, Carrie appeared on the Today Show in September 2023, revealing some pretty personal things about being a mom to Hoda and Jenna.
The real truth is that many of Carrie’s fans feel the same way about her. The article in Hello even claimed that Carrie is the happiest at home, doing chores.
Carrie Underwood Limits Her Children’s Technology Usage
Carrie is such a devoted mom that she notices the little changes in her boys after they watch too much TV. Although She also recognizes that her boys have learned some good stuff through educational TV programming, she’s wary of too much technology, including cell phones. Carrie told Jenna that she’s keeping her kids off cell phones “for as long as possible.”
She also talked about the “grassroots initiative” at the school the boys attend in Tennessee. She said all the parents gathered to discuss keeping the kids away from the harms of technology, “especially social media.”
It’s not like Carrie never posts anything about her sons on social media. But fans and followers always notice the same thing when she does. Just like on Lorraine, she rarely, if ever, lets her boys’ faces appear in photos or videos on her social media.

Last year, Carrie posted a hilarious video of Jacob with the caption: “Jake getting the day started right.” It sounded like he was getting his morning workout in as he watched an unnamed TV show. Carrie could be heard laughing in the background at her younger son’s adorable antics.
Another moment that Carrie shared was what she called “bedtime hijinks.” Carrie was in bed with her son beside her, wearing a dinosaur mask. It looked like she was trying hard not to start laughing.
Then there was the video of Isaiah wearing a Halloween costume and acting silly—and Carrie was all for it. He was dressed up as an “old man,” including a mask, sunglasses, and a suit.
Carrie could be heard telling Isaiah in the video: “I need the old man dance.” Isaiah’s friends could be heard laughing as he dropped his plastic pumpkin candy holder for a second and made his best impression.
Carrie Was Away from Her Children During the 2020 Tornado
Carrie’s side of the story is that she’s a “homebody.” When she appeared on Today’s Country Radio With Kelleigh Bannen, she told Kelleigh: “I don’t want to go to restaurants, I don’t want to travel. I don’t want to go anywhere.” Carrie prefers family life on her Nashville farm.
There was one scary moment when Carrie wasn’t home—and she agonized over the safety of her kids. This happened in March 2020 when a devastating EF-3 tornado swept through Tennessee.
According to Taste of Country, Carrie wasn’t at home early that Tuesday morning when the tornado touched down, and Taste of Country alleged that it “made her panic even worse.”

Today.com ran a story about this frightening incident. They described what Carrie said in an interview with Savannah Guthrie and Carson Daly. Carrie was in New York City on a book tour.
Her sons were only five and one when the natural disaster occurred. She explained to Savannah and Carson that she was texting people she knew, desperately trying to reach Mike at home.
When she finally got her husband on the phone, Mike told Carrie that he had to go upstairs in the middle of the night, grab both of their sons, and get them into a safe room downstairs in their home. Carrie knew what Mike had to be going through. She said she told him: “I bet everybody is crying, it’s 2 a.m., freaking out, so it was scary.”
Carrie Suffered Multiple Miscarriages
Carrie has always been honest about her life. She’s had to learn the hard way that life doesn’t always go as she prayed for. In a shocking interview with People Magazine, Carrie confessed that she suffered three miscarriages before she got pregnant with Jacob.
She asked herself: “What am I doing wrong?” Carrie said: “I remember having conversations with Mike, trying to make sense of it all.”
But somehow, Carrie found strength in her faith. She said: “If this isn’t meant to happen, then I need to accept that and know that someday I’ll understand why.”
After Jacob was born, Carrie took a sweet picture of Mike and his boys. It’s one of the rare occasions when you can see Isaiah’s face along with his newborn brother. Carrie says that her two boys are close, even though there’s a little bit of an age gap.
One huge thing Isaiah and Jacob share is a love of themed birthday cakes!
On Isaiah’s birthday, Carrie posted a photo of a ‘Dude Perfect’ custom cake with the message “Happy Birthday Isaiah.” Carrie wrote: “I can’t believe he is 8! Where does the time go?”
As a mom, Carrie is also very aware of how her fame will affect her sons. In an interview with Today, Carrie claimed that Isaiah is “becoming more aware” that her fame is “not normal.” Carrie gave an example of Isaiah going to school and having someone tell him: “I saw your mom on TV last night.”
But Carrie has a plan in place for all of her tours or her Las Vegas residency. Either the boys come out with her during school vacations for a few days, or Carrie goes home. Before Carrie started her Denim & Rhinestones tour, she said: “This tour, I’m going home a lot more than I ever have before.”
Even though it sounds like Carrie is crazy busy with her country music career, she knows her priorities and is dedicated to keeping her sons’ lives as normal and healthy as possible.
