A few years ago, Christine Brown split from her husband of 25 years Kody Brown. She recently made a post on Instagram looking back at her past, and sought to inspire others to make the same change she did.
Christine Brown Said Kody ‘Only Wanted Me To Be Positive’ And ‘Be Fun’
For those unfamiliar, the couple were the stars of “Sister Wives”, along with Kody’s other wives Robyn, Meri, and Janelle. The show documented the lives of the polygamist family and has been running for 18 seasons on TLC, and has been among the most popular shows on the network.
But after reported marital troubles developed in their relationship, Christine made the difficult decision to leave Kody in 2021. However, she wasn’t the only first wife to leave. Since she left, Janelle has ended her relationship with Kody in 2022, and Meri followed suit in 2023. That leaves only Kody and Robyn together.
When Christine spoke about her split from Kody, she said that he “only wanted me to be positive” and “be fun,” so she ultimately felt like she couldn’t be herself around him at times.
Christine Brown’s New Husband and ‘Fairytale’ Wedding
After leaving Kody, Christine decided she no longer wanted to be in a polygamist relationship, and instead wanted “a guy who actually loves me and wants to be with me intimately.”
She eventually met David Woolley on a dating app, and the pair hit it off quickly. After dating for a while, the two married in October 2023. When talking about the wedding, Christine has said it was “a fairytale” and “a dream come true.”
It seems the pair is having a wonderful time together, as Christine shared the following comments soon after the wedding:
“”We travel so much and try so many new things. And we have so many more kids now, so that’s always fun too.”
She also said:
“We’re having so much fun. It’s the best time ever… I had no idea it felt like this or would feel like this. It really is a dream come true.”
Christine Said, ‘… Change Is Scary. But We Can Do Scary Things’
It seems after years of not being able to be her true self, she’s finally able to let her personality shine and enjoy her time with her partner. In early July 2024, she took to Instagram and posted a reel that included both pictures of her looking unhappy in the past, along with her smiling and looking joyful in the present.
The caption looked to inspire other people as it said:
“Over the last few years, many people have reached out to me, looking for the courage to make a change. Let this be the day that you step out into the uncomfortable, unfamiliar or even the scary. Change is scary. But we can do scary things.”
Many of the comments praised her journey through difficult times, and even thanked her for inspiring them to take similar steps in their life that she has in hers.
While Christine certainly had some difficult times in the past, it seems she’s incredibly happy with her new life and marriage.
