Recently, Diddy’s twin daughters D’Lila Star Combs and Jessie James Combs attended their senior prom. The twins were born in 2006 and were welcomed into the world by Diddy and their mother, Kim Porter, who was an actress and model.
Diddy and Twin Daughters’ Mother’s, Kim, Relationship
Diddy and Porter were in an on-again/off-again relationship with Kim Porter from 1994 to 2007, and they had a few children together, with Diddy also adopting her son from a previous relationship. Unfortunately, Porter passed away back in 2018.
Since she passed, Kimora Lee Simmons, who was a good friend of Porter, stepped in to help care for the girls. She also shared a few photos of the girls on Instagram ahead of their prom. The twins posed in matching black dresses and it looks like Simmons even let the pair take her Lamborghini to the event.
Diddy and Cassie Ventura’s Relationship
Unfortunately, what should be a joyous occasion for the twins is being overshadowed by the actions of their father. A video from 2016 was recently released by CNN showing Diddy abusing his former girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a hotel in Los Angeles. The video came out just a few days before their prom.
Cassie originally met Diddy in 2005 when she was only 19 years old and he was 36, and he initially signed her to Bad Boy Records. In 2007, the two began a romantic relationship that lasted until 2018.
The pair eventually split, and the breakup seemed amicable at the time. However, fast forward a few years and in November 2023, Cassie accused Diddy of abusing her and sued him. Since then, others have come forward with stories of abuse at the hands of Diddy, some of which date back decades.
Diddy’s Allegations
Even before these recent allegations, Diddy was accused of sexual harrassment back in 2017 by Cindy Ruela, who worked as his personal chef. The matter was eventually settled for an undisclosed amount of money in 2019.
Diddy has previously denied the claims of abuse from Cassie and the pair resolved the lawsuit with a settlement a day after Diddy was sued. However, once the video came out, there was no doubt that he was responsible for doing some truly horrific things, such as grabbing, dragging, and kicking her on the video.
The video is hard to watch, and it must be especially awful for Cassie to have to relive those dark times and be reminded of what occured. Also, while his daughters put on a happy face and likely tried to enjoy their prom as best they could, there’s no doubt that this video and its implications also had a major impact on them, as well.
They seemed very close to their father as he appeared in many Instagram photos with the twins, and they’re now faced with the harsh reality of what he’s done. It’s a shame that such an important moment of growth and success for the twins had to come only a few days after the horrible actions of their father were finally brought to light.
