People who watched Straight Outta Compton may remember the part where Dr. Dre’s girlfriend pulls up with their daughter and says she is leaving him. While the movie isn’t an exact depiction of real life, it appears reality may be a lot worse. Dr. Dre’s youngest daughter is not living a life of luxury, many would assume, and she is now coming out with new details about Dr. Dre’s ex-wife, Nicole.
Dr. Dre’s Children
LeTanya Young and Dr. Dre dated in the early 1980s and had three daughters together. Their first was LeTanya, who is actually Dre’s second child after his son with Cassandra Greene.
Dr. Dre had several tumultuous relationships. Many people remember him dating Michel’le in the late 80s and early 90s, but he eventually settled down in 1996 and married Nicole Threatt.
While he has been a seemingly good father to his two children with Nicole, others are accusing him of completely abandoning them. Dre’s oldest child, Curtis, didn’t even know Dre was his father, and he didn’t meet Dre until he was 20 years old.
In recent years, LeTanya has thrown around some serious allegations of Dre being an absent father who has failed to provide for her and her struggling mother.

LeTanya Speaks Out
LeTanya spoke out back in 2020 about how her father failed to provide for her and that she was literally living in a rented SUV. The catch is that LeTanya was 37 years old at the time. It’s obviously expensive to live in southern California, especially when trying to raise kids alone.

It’s even crazier to think that one of the richest people in the music industry is literally letting his daughter sleep in her car despite having many rooms to offer.
As sad as it is, this shouldn’t come as a surprise after reading about Dre and LeTanya’s relationship. LeTanya claimed in 2020 that she had not seen her father in 17 years, putting her around 20 years old when she last saw him.
She also complained in an interview with DailyMailTV that she couldn’t even call her father and instead needed to go through a vetting process to reach him. LeTanya claims that Dre offered to pay for her college tuition at one point, but he never came through.
LeTanya Blames Dr. Dre, Ex-Wife, Nicole, For Hindering Their Relationship
The biggest roadblock was allegedly Dre’s wife Nicole. In the interview, LeTanya accused Dre’s then-wife Nicole of hindering their relationship. She also told a story of her and her sister being denied entry by Nicole at the entrance of Dre’s house when they were just teenagers. Nicole even threatened to call the police on the teenagers who just wanted to see their father.
About a year later, LeTanya did another interview, in which she revealed that she had not received support from her father in 18 months. She stated that she was a DoorDash and Uber Eats driver and worked at a warehouse. Unfortunately, this still didn’t bring in enough money to pay for rent.
LeTanya hoped that Dre’s split from Nicole would open up the possibility of having a relationship, but there has been no word on how things are lately.
