On March 28th, Gypsy Rose Blanchard announced a shocking separation from her husband, Ryan Scott Anderson. People.com reported the news on March 29th, writing, “Gypsy Rose and her husband have called it quits.” The news is even more surprising because Gypsy Rose was only released from prison three months ago.

Her statement was posted on Thursday to a select group of people. People confirmed that Gypsy Rose’s Facebook account is private, so they obtained access to read what she said.

Gypsy Rose began by writing, “People have been asking what is going on in my life.” Then she dropped the bombshell.

Gypsy Rose confirmed, “unfortunately,” that she and Ryan “are going through a separation.” She also explained that she’d moved in with her “parents” and is now living in their “home down the bayou.”

She sounded thankful for having the support of her family and friends “to help guide me through this.” Gypsy Rose seemed to offer an explanation for why this divorce happened so suddenly.

Gypsy Rose wrote, “I am learning to listen to my heart. Right now, I need time to let myself find… who I am.”

Gypsy Rose Wants to Take Accountability

There’s a strange twist to this story. Earlier in March, Gypsy Rose posted an apology video to TikTok—and then she deleted her public social media accounts. In her video, Gypsy Rose claimed she was sorry to “all the people that I offended with a lack of accountability, the first month or so that I was out of prison.”

She revealed she also showed “a lack of accountability in my interviews.” Gypsy Rose then repeated, “I’m sorry.”

Then she said she was “learning” and added, “I’m saying this right now. I’m taking accountability.” According to Gypsy Rose, she did “a bad thing.”

People obtained an explanation from “a source” that Gypsy Rose deleted her social media accounts because her parole officer told her to. The source claimed that Gypsy Rose doesn’t want to get in trouble and go back to jail.

She served over eight years at Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri in a plot to end the life of her mom, Dee Dee Blanchard. The act was carried out by Nicholas Godejohn, Gypsy Rose’s ex-boyfriend.

Chillicothe Correctional Center is also the first place where Gypsy Rose met her soon-to-be ex-husband. Ryan began writing letters and mailing them to Gypsy Rose in prison to offer her “comfort and support.”

Gypsy Rose Had Never Lived With a Man Before Ryan

Then, Ryan began visiting Gypsy Rose at the Correctional Center, and their “pen-pal” friendship allegedly grew into love. Gypsy Rose and Ryan got married at the Correctional Center in July 2022. When she received an “early release” from jail last December, Gypsy Rose even claimed that she and Ryan were planning to get married again.

She told People in an exclusive interview, “We do plan on having a reception / redo wedding with all of our family and our friends and the dress and the cake.” Gypsy Rose said, “We deserve that.”

She described her prison wedding as the moment she and Ryan made “our vows to each other,” and claimed, “It was something that meant something to us.” But Gypsy Rose still wanted a real wedding, especially the party. She told People, “The party is kind of for everybody else and us, but mostly for everybody else.”

Last December, Gypsy Rose also claimed to be “excited” to leave prison and move straight in with Ryan. She talked to People about their plans and starting their life together.

Gypsy Rose revealed, “I’ve never lived with a man.” It’s common knowledge that she was kept forcibly confined by her mentally unstable mother. During her trial, Gypsy Rose’s lawyers argued that she was a victim of “Munchausen syndrome by proxy,” a form of child harm where the guardian “exaggerates” or even induces illness to gain the sympathy of others.

Gypsy Rose confirmed, “I didn’t even grow up with a dad in the house.” She sounded a bit uncertain when she admitted to People, “I don’t even know what it’s like to live with a man.”
