Halle Bailey has revealed that she’s struggling with an issue she calls “severe.”
BCK Online shared a Snapchat story that Halle posted talking about the postpartum depression she’s suffered from since giving birth to her son, Halo.

Halle started the Snapchat story by saying that she loved her son, but as she started to return to work, she noticed that her feelings were very different from those before she had a baby.
These days, Halle said that she couldn’t go more than 30 minutes without seeing her baby.
Otherwise, she starts to worry and freak out.
Halle said it’s part of the severe postpartum depression that she’s suffering from.
How Halle Views Her Body Since Giving Birth
Along with being unable to be away from her son, Halle said that her body doesn’t feel right anymore.
She explained that she’ll look in the mirror and not feel as though it’s hers.
She said it’s like living in a whole new body.
At this point, she isn’t sure how she feels about the new body.
While Halle has been suffering from these feelings, she said that her father’s child, DDG, has been extremely supportive of her and the baby.
She said that her boyfriend was very hands-on and attentive to them both.
Halle revealed DDG’s nickname, calling him Moo Moo, and said that Halo loved him.
She also said that DDG was the best man she could hope to have a baby with.
She’s also aware that there’s a stigma around postpartum depression and admitted that she didn’t take it seriously either.
Before she had a baby, whenever she heard about postpartum depression, the information would go in one ear and out the other.
She never really took it seriously.
Now that she’s experienced it, however, she knows it’s real and it’s a severe form of depression.
Halle Wants Mothers to Know That They Are Not Alone
Part of the reason she wanted to tell her story was because she wanted other mothers who are suffering from postpartum to know that they weren’t alone.
While postpartum depression’s specific symptoms can be different for each person, they do share some similarities.
According to the Mayo Clinic, postpartum depression can be as mild as lasting a few days after giving birth to as severe as lasting for months, if not years.
Some of the symptoms can be distressing, although they’re different for everyone.
Some mothers might have difficulty bonding with their baby, for example.
Others might experience feelings that they’re not a good mother or feel hopeless.
Some have reported being unable to sleep or having appetite changes.
Depending on what symptoms the mother is experiencing, a doctor may be able to prescribe something to help.
How Halle Describes Postpartum Depression
For Halle, the best way she described her postpartum depression was like swimming in an ocean.
While swimming, she’s trying to fight against huge waves.
Sometimes, when she’s able to break free from the tide and surface, she feels so good.
Those moments are perfect for her.
However, when the tide takes her down, she feels like she’s drowning.
Halle’s case is unique since she’s also a celebrity and subject to social media hate.
How Halle Responded to Hateful Social Media Comment
She explained in her Snapchat story that she made the post because she was triggered by a hateful comment she saw on social media about her.
It was an attack against the ones she loved.
Halle said that she can normally ignore the comments.
Although they’re still painful to read, she has the patience to ignore them and wish the person well.
This particular comment, however, made her feel the need to take action.
Halle said that was one of the things that’s changed about her since her pregnancy.
She said she just hoped that people would come to understand that even though someone is a celebrity, it doesn’t mean they don’t suffer.
No one really knows what’s going on on the other side of the screen except for those directly involved.
So, she hoped people might have a bit more understanding for those they look up to, especially if that person just had a baby.
Halle gave birth to her baby boy, Halo, in January 2024.

Leading up to the pregnancy, Halle kept all her fans and the media on their toes.
Even though there was plenty of speculation that she was pregnant, she never confirmed she was until she revealed that she had given birth to Halo.
While she kept her pregnancy a secret, Halle has opened up about her post-pregnancy life in the hopes of making others feel less alone.
