Chris Brown’s relationship status has always been an interesting topic for people.
Not just because of the fame he’s gathered within the last couple of years, but because of the type of person he is.
Chris Brown’s Last Public Relationship
And from the looks of things it seems, Chris isn’t in any relationship right now.
Or at least any relationship that he’s made public.
According to Yahoo, his last public relationship was the one he had with Ammika Harris and that dates back to 2015.
They dated for about four years and welcomed their son Aeko Catori before they broke up in 2019.
However, they found their way back together and celebrated Valentine’s Day 2023 together.
That was the last time they were reported to be still together.
As of now, Chris and Ammika are good friends and have a nice co-parenting relationship.

And the chances of Chris getting into another relationship anytime soon are slim.
It’s no secret that Chris doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to relationships.
Somehow he always seems to find himself in one controversy or the other, with each new one being bigger than the last.
Starting from his relationship with Rihanna.
Rihanna and Chris Brown’s relationship was the perfect example of a Hollywood relationship gone wrong.
Which is surprising because of how well they started.
How Chris And Rihanna Met
Rihanna and Chris first met back in 2004 when Rihanna was 16 and Chris was 15 and constantly found each other in the same circle.
This continued until after Rihanna released her hit song Umbrella, which earned her a Grammy and then Chris hopped on the remix of the song with her.
Although the remix wasn’t released, Rihanna and Chris performed it together on a handful of occasions.
That was when people started to notice the chemistry between them.
And the possibility of them having a relationship became a thing.
Why Rihanna Denied Her Relationship With Chris Brown
According to Hollywood Life, back then Rihanna and Chris Brown would constantly deny the sparks between them.
Rihanna even went as far as calling Chris Brown her best friend, saying that they were just like brother and sister.
And even when Chris started hinting at them having a secret relationship, she still denied everything.
But admitted that Chris was an amazing person and that they were very very close.
However, Rihanna’s words didn’t match her actions, and that made it hard for everyone to believe what she was saying.
Today she’s being interviewed and telling her interviewer that she and Chris are just close friends who like enjoying each other’s company.
And tomorrow she and Chris are spotted getting cozy together while they’re out in public.
This continued until they finally decided to announce their relationship sometime in 2008.
And that was all it took for them to become the Hollywood power couple of the moment.
The Night Chris Brown Physically Assaulted Rihanna
However, the fairytale that was their relationship didn’t last for long.
After the 2009 Grammy Awards Chris Brown and Rihanna made headlines everywhere, but not for a good reason.
They were scheduled to perform together at the Grammy Award Ceremony but backed out of their performance.
And a few short hours after this the reason why they backed out was revealed.
It was discovered that Chris physically hurt Rihanna the night before the award ceremony, leaving her bruised, swollen, and unable to perform as arranged.
And photos of Rihanna’s condition were released to back up the claims.
Chris was arrested and charged with felony assault, and when he and Rihanna went to court in 2009, he pleaded guilty to his charges and was sentenced to five years of probation, as well as community service and domestic violence counseling.
In addition to this, Rihanna also filed for a restraining order, and Chris was not allowed within 50 yards of her.
Chris Brown Speaks Out On Physically Assaulting Rihanna
In his 2017 documentary, Chris Brown: Welcome To My Life, Chris gave some insights about what was passing through his mind during this time.
According to him, his trust was lost in Rihanna.
She hated him because of what he did.
No matter what he did or said, she just didn’t trust him, and from there their relationship went downhill as they got into a lot of fights and arguments leading up to their breakup.
Despite all of this, in 2011, her restraining order was altered and Chris was allowed to contact her without harassing her.
With the amount of trauma both parties faced during this time, everyone assumed that that would be the final lap of Rihanna and Chris’s relationship.
But it wasn’t.
Rihanna Said ‘We’ve Built A Trust Again …’
To everyone’s surprise, Rihanna not only forgave Chris Brown for what he did to her, but she decided to give their relationship another chance.
And in 2012, they rekindled their relationship.
In an interview Rihanna did with Oprah back then, she explained the reason why she decided to give her and Chris another chance.
According to her, Chris Brown is her true love, and she considered him to be the love of her life.
In her words, “We’ve built a trust again, and that’s it. We love each other and we probably always will. That’s not anything that we’re going to try to change. That’s not something you can shut off if you’ve ever been in love.”
Why Chris Brown And Rihanna’s Relationship Didn’t Last The Second Time
She went on to talk about how she dropped the restraining order against him the year before and how she had forgiven him for everything that he did to her even though it took her a long time to do just that.
According to her, what happened between her and Chris made her resentful, dark, and very angry.
And this was something she couldn’t hide.
It was obvious with her music, the way she behaved, and even with how she dressed.
As much as Rihanna and Chris tried to make their relationship work the second time around, they just couldn’t.
Barely a year into their relationship, they announced that they had broken up again, this time around for good.
Chris Brown and Karrueche Tran’s Relationship
But this didn’t end Chris’s bad streak of luck with women.
As he allegedly repeated what he did to Rihanna in his next couple of relationships including the one he had with Karrueche Tran.
Chris and Karrueche met while she was on a styling job and struck up a relationship not soon after.
However, Karrueche had to fight for Chris’s affection during their relationship as he was allegedly not completely over Rihanna.
This continued for most of their relationship until Karrueche decided to pull the plug on everything.
In an interview she had with Keke Palmer, Karrueche explained how she had never dated a celebrity before Chris and how everything was new to her.
So she was trying her best to cope with their relationship being open to the public.
And the fact that she also had to deal with him still being linked to Rihanna made it even harder for her.
Because she didn’t have to fight Chris’s fans alone, she also had to fight Rihanna’s fans and every other person who had something to say about their relationship.
Chris and Karrueche kept on breaking up and getting back together until everyone, including Karrueche, heard about the child that Chris had outside of their relationship.
This was the last straw for Karrueche, and she decided to leave for good.
Why Karrueche Filed A Restraining Order Against Chris Brown
But Chris wasn’t having any of this and refused to let her go.
Because of this, Karrueche was forced to get a restraining order against Chris for herself, her mother, and her brother.
The reasons she gave weren’t just that Chris had stalked her, but that he had also physically and emotionally abused her during the time that they were together.
Chris’s relationship with Rihanna and Karrueche sparked a wide online debate about Chris as a person and how he doesn’t respect women or at least pretends to.
And so far, this has been the opinion a lot of people carry about Chris Brown to date.
This is why some people think he wouldn’t be getting into another relationship anytime soon, and if he does, he wouldn’t be in a hurry to make it public.
