Joe Manganiello might be expanding his family soon with his girlfriend, Caitlin O’Connor, according to a report by US Weekly. The couple has been talking about getting married soon, and they plan to have children together shortly afterward.
Having children was the big issue that eventually ended Joe’s marriage to Sofia Vergara. Joe and Sofia had been married for seven years before Joe ended up filing for divorce.

The couple got a lot of attention when they were first together because of the age gap between them. Sofia was older than Joe. Their age gap eventually ended up playing a factor in their divorce.
Joe wanted to have children with Sofia, but she wasn’t interested in being an older mother. Sofia already had a child, Manolo, with her ex-husband, Joe Gonzalez, back in 1991. She was 19 years old at the time.
Sofia said that she had respect for older mothers, but she wasn’t that type of person. She wanted grandchildren instead. Since she was unwilling to have children with Joe, they ultimately divorced because Joe wanted to have kids of his own.
Joe Quickly Moved On
Two months after Joe separated from Sofia, he was seen with Caitlin. Friends of the couple told US Weekly that they’re very easy-going people, which made their connection even tighter.
Joe also liked that Caitlin wasn’t a party girl. These remarks are likely in response to some of the reasons why Joe and Sofia’s marriage didn’t quite work out.
They were different people in many ways, and those differences eventually led to the end of their marriage. Sofia liked to go out, for example, while Joe preferred to stay at home. By the time they separated, they were already basically living separate lives.

Joe likely appreciates that Caitlin is someone who prefers to stay home, too. He also appreciated that she wasn’t someone who was high-maintenance.
The couple also has the same idea about children. They’re both interested in starting a family together.
According to US Weekly, the couple first met at a party for the premiere of Winning Time. Joe acted in the show and was there to support its first episode. The two actually ended up meeting while relaxing in a hot tub at the party.
They hit it off and started going to the gym together. The paparazzi spotted them leaving Gold’s Gym together a few weeks after the party.
It was in December 2023 that they decided to make their relationship public. They attended the Children of Armenia Fund gala together and then went to a New York Jets vs. Houston Texans game a few days later.
Sofia Has Also Found Love Again
In 2024, the couple still seemed to be going strong. They had a date night at The Art of Elysium’s 25th Anniversary HEAVEN Gala in January.
On Valentine’s Day, Joe shared their first photo together. They went to a Tool concert to celebrate their relationship. It was also the first Valentine’s Day they shared together.
In March 2024, engagement rumors started to spread after a source told US Weekly that the couple was looking to get married soon. Their eagerness to start a family together is one of the reasons they’re looking to marry sooner rather than later.

While Joe has been finding success in love with Caitlin, Sofia has had some luck, too. Four months after she separated from Joe, Sofia was seen with Justin Saliman. He’s an orthopedic surgeon, and the couple appear to have great chemistry.
An insider spoke with US Weekly and said their friends think they make for a wonderful couple. They also said that the more time Sofia spends with Justin, the more she’s falling in love.
Justin is a gentleman with her and doesn’t seem bothered that she’s a celebrity. It helps that he has his own business to focus on, so he doesn’t have any conflicts of interest when it comes to fame.
The couple were first spotted together having dinner at a restaurant in Beverly Hills. They had known each other for a few years prior to dating since they ran in similar circles. She had always enjoyed his intelligence and sense of humor.
While Joe and Caitlin are ready to marry and have kids, fans will have to wait and see if Sofia gets married, too.
