Reality TV stars never seem to disappoint with drama and controversies. This time, it’s the former star of “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” Jon Gosselin.

The 47-year-old father of eight himself is right at the center of controversy by making claims about his ex-wife and girlfriend and their relationship with their estranged children. But, those assertions didn’t last long and exposed a web of potential lies.
The Shocking Claims
Jon was invited to the Dom Nati Show where he dropped a bombshell stating his ex-wife Kate and high girlfriend Stephanie Lebo are on speaking terms with each other. He also mentioned that even though he has not seen Kate or his kids since 2018, Stephanie has been in touch with them.
He presented Stephanie as a bridge between the fractured family and accentuated the point that she was “completely integrated” into his kids’ lives. Jon also mentioned that Stephanie had spoken to Kate on FaceTime. This turned out to be a lie.
When Jon and Stephanie gave an interview to The U.S. Sun, their narrative shifted quite drastically. They contradicted all the claims they made at the Dom Nati show, with Stephanie clearly stating she was not on speaking terms with Kate but would love to change that and connect with Kate whenever possible. This statement nullifies all the claims Jon made regarding the existing communication between Kate and Stephanie.
The Lawsuits
Jon’s initial claims also involved his children, as he suggested that his estranged children were more comfortable connecting with Stephanie than him. But, he negated these claims in the U.S. Sun interview and admitted that no “full-on conversations” had ever happened between Steph and his children.
Just like Stephanie, Jon also expressed a desire to resolve the issues and develop a better family bond. He said he would love it if both Kate and Stephanie decided to communicate, as it would be a step towards building a “united” family. However, it seems quite difficult considering all the conflicting information he has shared recently and the history of legal and personal battles between him and his ex-wife.

Jon and Kate parted ways in 2009, and right after their divorce, their reality show fame quickly turned into a courtroom saga over custody arrangements and child support payments. Recently, According to WASH11, Kate also filed a lawsuit against Jon, suing him over alleged back child support payments of $132,875. The court did not decide in her favor, but her lawyer has mentioned that the legal wrangling is far from over.
So, right now, there’s no hope for Jon’s dream of becoming a “united family,” especially when he has absolutely no contact with his children, Aaden, Alexis, Leah, Joel, Cara, or Mady.
Jon’s New Life
Jon met Stephanie in 2021, not long after a breakup with ex-girlfriend Colleen. Though he kept his new relationship private for a while, he eventually disclosed it last year and committed to staying with her in the future. In an interview with People Magazine, he has even hinted at proposing to Stephanie soon.
While the controversy is still hot, Kate has not responded. She has decided not to speak up, as she values her privacy. Her only recent public communication was on social media where she wished four of her sextuplets a happy birthday, omitting Collin and Hannah, who live with Jon.
