On March 25th, Teen Mom Fans on Instagram reported on a TikTok video Kail Lowry made about Mama June Shannon’s financial scandal. Kail called out Mama June for allegations that she’s pocketed 80% of the money off her family’s reality shows… money that was supposed to go to Honey Boo Boo. But someone has a problem with Kail’s opinions — Mama June’s husband, Justin Stroud.
Justin posted a lengthy diss comment to Kail. He wrote, “The fact that people will go off of anything put on the internet and make videos saying my wife spent all 13 years of TV money… that’s crazy.” Then Justin repeated, “That’s what is [expletive] crazy.”
Kail’s TikTok video really gets into the math, and she said she’s done reality TV “as long as Alana has been with Honey Boo Boo and other shows.” According to Kail, Alana has been on TV for 12 years since she was six. Kail also assumed that Alana received money from “some if not all” opportunities connected to the reality show.
Kail claimed that Mama June makes her “own money” from reality TV and “other opportunities,” too. She said, “I have so much to say about this” because she’s also a “mom on TV” who made her own money while “protecting her kids’ money” too.
Then, Kail warned any haters who might post nasty comments. She said she wouldn’t accept any excuses from Mama June that “it’s where we came from.”
Kail Thinks Mama June Needs to Make “More Responsible Choices”
Kail said, “I had no guidance.” She alleges that her mom formerly struggled with substances, and she never met her father until she was an adult.
Kail clarified that she had no “financial guidance,” either. Shockingly, She admitted, “I made so much money,” but she claims she wasted the “beginning dollars” she made earlier on in her reality TV career, so she was forced to “make changes.”
She thinks it’s time for others to make “more responsible choices.” Kail said, “Ultimately, for me, I wanted to see my money grow.” She said she’s found a very good accountant and financial advisor in the last 5 to 6 years.

But then Kail said she wanted to “backtrack a bit,” and that meant asking Mama June a shocking question. How was Mama June “able to spend 12 to 13 years’ worth of money when you are getting your own money?”
Kail even insinuated that Mama June is “making more than an average person.” By that, Kail meant someone not on TV and “not in the public eye.” Kail also brought up Mama June’s kids. She said, “Even if she’s taking a percentage of her kids’ money as a management fee or whatever,” Kail thinks that “spending all of it is absolutely [expletive] insane.”
Kail also gave a personal example of how she handles—or protects—her kids’ money. She alleged that she and her ex set up a “custodial” bank account to save the money earmarked for her son Isaac from the reality show.
She alleged that she accidentally deposited “rent money” into Isaac’s account. Kail could not get the money back out, and she claimed in her video that it was “really rough” for her then.
Justin Did Not Like What Kail Had to Say
She said the same “custodial account” arrangement was set up with her other exes and kids. Her financial advisor has also invested the money properly for their kids, with statements to prove it.
Kail makes some pretty serious assumptions in her video, specifically how Mama June must have earned “upwards of seven figures” since she started on reality TV “with three or four kids.” Shockingly, Kail claims she would help “any of her kids sue the parent” who spent their money without setting up a proper savings account or investment portfolio.
Kail also took a shot at Mama June. She claimed there should have been “more than enough money” for Mama June’s plastic surgeries, “buying a house,” and for Alana to live and go to college.
Justin seemed to think Kail should know a lot better than this since she’s also a reality TV star. He wrote, “People that’s been on TV should know you can’t go off of every headline or every blogger that likes a story.” He believes most internet stories and blogs aren’t the real truth, writing that “9 times out of 10,” it’s just “pieces of the truth.”
Justin suggested that “anyone” who really wants to know or find out the truth should “reach out before making a video.” If it sounded like Justin had no time for Kail, he did claim that he respects her hustle, but she should know better than to believe everything she sees on reality TV.
We know that Kail read Justin’s takedown in the comments section, and she didn’t take it lying down. She replied to Justin and told him to come on her Barely Famous podcast. Mama June also posted a shocking TikTok back to Kail, so we’ll have to see what happens next.
