Larsa Pippen and Marcus Jordan recently broke up for the second time. It looks like their relationship is completely over this time. But what really caused them to call it quits for good?
One of the theories surrounding Marcus and Larsa’s breakup has to do with the opinion of Marcus’s father, Michael. Last July, a TMZ photographer asked Michael if he approved of his son dating Larsa. He did not hold back.

Without hesitation, Michael loudly replied, “No,” to the question, and shook his head no when it was repeated. According to People magazine, Larsa and Marcus discussed the comment the following week during an episode of their podcast, Separation Anxiety.
Michael Tried to “Steer Clear” of Their Relationship
At one point, Larsa acknowledged that her relationship with Marcus was probably a little bit uncomfortable for his dad and her ex, Scottie Pippen, because of the former NBA players’ rivalry. However, she claimed that neither she nor Marcus had ever been involved in Scottie and Michael’s drama.
Marcus revealed that even though his dad’s goal had “always been to steer clear” of his relationship with Larsa, he had only been joking about his disapproval. He added that his father had only been trying to be playful with his remark, but Larsa didn’t seem convinced.
She admitted that Michael’s alleged disapproval and the way blew up in the press, made her feel appalled and embarrassed. But when she and Marcus appeared on an episode of the Pablo Torre Finds Out podcast in October, the situation got even more awkward.
Marcus explained that if he and Larsa ever tied the knot, he would want his dad to be his best man. So on top of the tension from Michael saying that he disapproved of their relationship, it’s possible that Larsa and Marcus couldn’t come to an agreement about his role in their potential wedding party.
Larsa Is 16 Years Older Than Marcus
Another theory about why Marcus and Larsa broke up goes back to their 16-year age gap. Larsa is 49 years old, and most of her kids are adults. Her daughter, Sophia, is her youngest child at 16 years old. Her oldest is 23, just 10 years younger than Marcus.
According to Complex magazine’s recap of The Real Housewives of Miami reunion finale last year, Larsa tried to clear the air while speaking to Andy Cohen and her castmates. She claimed that she hadn’t known Marcus when he was a child and that they had only met each other a few years ago. But that still didn’t put a stop to the public scrutiny regarding their significant age gap.
The widespread criticism over Marcus and Larsa’s age difference could have potentially been a reason for their split. It’s also possible that the age gap ultimately caused issues that they couldn’t work through. Marcus simply could be too young and immature for Larsa.
However, the other theory about their breakup has to do with each of them having busy schedules. Between filming for Real Housewives, focusing on her family, and promoting her different business ventures, Larsa usually has a lot going on in her life. Meanwhile, Marcus has spent the last several years expanding his luxury fashion and sneaker store, The Trophy Room.
