Lil’ Romeo, who now goes by Romeo, found fame at an early age when he first came onto the music scene in the early 2000s. He signed with his father, Master P’s record label. In 2001 released his debut single My Baby at the age of twelve.
His self-titled debut album reached number six on the US Billboard 200. The next two albums he released under the name Lil’ Romeo weren’t critically acclaimed but were still considered commercially successful.

He later continued to make music as a solo artist under different names and participated in a few music groups. According to Famous African Americans, the music that Romeo released after his first 3 albums failed to have the same kind of global success. As a teenager, he also entered the world of acting when he starred in his own TV show called Romeo! on Nickelodeon.
In recent years though, Romeo has made headlines for his personal life more than anything else. In late 2022, he and his father got into a public feud on Instagram.
According to XXL MAG, Romeo shared a poem titled, The Tree Of Trauma. It talked about how his mom and siblings had struggled with being in the spotlight, and he blamed his dad. He ended the poem with a line that was reportedly directed at his father- “I’ve tried and tried behind the walls that hide, but maybe social media is the only way to open up this giant’s eyes.”
Master P Fought Back
When Master P saw what his son had posted, he also took to Instagram to address his son’s words. According to him, the new generation of children needed to stop blaming their parents for everything.
He also disagreed with Romeo that social media was the place to discuss family matters. He told him to stop trying to get people to feel sorry for him.
Romeo later responded to his dad’s comments by insisting that social media was the only way to communicate with him. He’d allegedly tried to contact him in other ways countless times. Romeo claimed that the only reason his dad was responding then was because he was trying to protect his public image.

XXL MAG reported that the arguing online continued when Master P shared another post and accused Romeo of being after his money. He said that he was just an ATM for their family and that he didn’t care about an image.
Romeo’s replies to Instagram users in the comments section of his dad’s post revealed allegations that he’d never publicly shared. He claimed that he and his siblings were broke and that they’d been living month-to-month. Romeo alleged that the money he had made from his music career as Lil’ Romeo was spent on paying off Master P’s tax debts.
According to him, his siblings never had money to afford college. He added that there was nothing wrong with that, but that his dad shouldn’t paint a life that wasn’t real.
Master P Eventually Apologised to Romeo
The article by XXL MAG revealed that the back-and-forth eventually ended when Master P published an apologetic message to his son. He wrote that he loved his family, and his door was always open for his son.
Master P explained that he was still a work in progress. He came from nothing, everybody went through trauma and he was dealing with that.
Master P also talked about the loss of his daughter, Romeo’s sister Tytyana Miller, who suddenly passed away in May 2022. He shared that he couldn’t get his daughter back, but he could keep her legacy going by going out into the community and helping people, which was what was helping him heal.
Romeo and his father haven’t always had a troubled relationship though. They’ve worked together many times throughout Romeo’s career.

The pair founded two record labels together, one in 2005 and the other in 2007. Their last musical collaboration was in December 2019 when Master P featured on one of his son’s songs from his album, Hidden Treasures.
According to Black Doctor, Romeo’s older Instagram posts about his father were more positive. He once praised his dad in a post where he said that he’d seen up close and personal the many good things he’d done for people and they’d only highlighted what he couldn’t do for them. He added that a real father sacrificed everything for his kids, and he thanked him for that, saying it was the best gift.
Romeo Launched a Clothing Line
Aside from his career in the entertainment industry, Romeo has also had success as an entrepreneur. In 2010, he launched his own clothing line called College Boyys. HIP-HOP PRESS described it as an urban lifestyle brand with a purpose.
They reported that the reason it was developed was to provide affordable clothes to the public and to promote education. A percentage of the company’s profits went to the communities for at-risk youth programs for education and scholarship funds. It was even promoted by celebrities like Jaden Smith, Justin Bieber, and Big Time Rush.
Hot New Hip Hop shared that Romeo later invested in Rap Snacks, a popular line of snack foods. More recently, Romeo has grabbed media attention with his latest business venture.
A report by AfroTech in 2023 revealed that Romeo had partnered with Richard Pattinson, a former Tesla engineer. He’s reportedly also the first black person to own and operate an exotic car manufacturing company in the U.S.
Their joint venture is called Trion and Shango. The press release the two partners shared with AfroTech stated that they’d already secured $10 billion in funding. The money would be dedicated to the development of self-sufficient energy homes and electric vehicles.
According to CAK Knowledge, Romeo has a net worth of $7 million dollars as of 2023. In November 2023, Romeo’s personal life began to make headlines again when he revealed that one of his daughters had Type 1 diabetes.
HipHopDX reported that Romeo shared the news about their 2-year-old daughter on Instagram. Romeo said that he and his fiance Drew Sangster had kept things private, but his daughter River Rose was one of the youngest people ever to be diagnosed with T1D.
He said that at her age, there were many challenges and random sleepovers at the hospital, but their faith had never wavered. Romeo also has a younger daughter with Drew named Winter, who was born on March 15th, 2023.
