Luke Combs recently made an Instagram video to talk about a lawsuit that involved one of his fans. He shared that the incident made him absolutely sick to his stomach.
After seeing a news report that WFLA had published the day before, he wanted to address the situation. The report stated that a woman from Pinellas, Florida named Nicol Harness had been sued by Luke’s team, and that she needed to pay the singer $250,000.

Nicol suffers from congestive heart failure and her only source of income was selling homemade tumblers and T-shirts on Amazon. Being a big fan of Luke’s, Nikol said that she began selling Luke Combs-themed tumblers. She claimed that she sold a total of 18 tumblers for 20 dollars each, amounting to $380.
She also shared that the situation was very stressful, she didn’t have money to pay her bills and she just wanted to get back to her day-to-day life.
Luke Said He Was Shocked When He First Read the News
WFLA reported that Nicol had hoped that she could tell Luke that she was sorry and that she didn’t mean any harm. She respected him and she didn’t mean for things to go wrong the way that they did.
In his video, Luke shared that he was completely shocked when he first read the news story. He explained that it wasn’t something he would ever do, it wasn’t the kind of person that he was. He added that he isn’t greedy in any way, shape, or form, and that money was the last thing on his mind.
It turns out that Luke’s management did have something in place to protect Luke’s image and how it was used. But the country star claimed that it wasn’t necessarily intended to target individuals like Nicol. In his explanation of what happened, Luke said that there was a company that went after folks — only it was supposedly looking out for large corporations operating internationally that’d make millions and millions of dollars.
Nicol told WFLA that she had no clue that she’d even been sued, until she got back from a hospital stay and found out that she couldn’t access the money she’d made on Amazon.

Eventually, she found an email in her junk folder which informed her of the lawsuit and stated that Luke’s attorney had given her 21 days to respond.
However, she claimed that she never got the opportunity to reply since she was in hospital when the email was sent to an email address that she hardly ever used.
WFLA reported that Nicol was just one of multiple sellers being sued by Luke’s legal team for selling illegal merchandise. Before she even knew about the lawsuit, the Illinois judge had already ordered each defendant to pay $250,000.
Luke Wants to Make Up for It and Cover Nicol’s Medical Bills
Luke revealed in his Instagram video that he’d promised to send his fan $11,000, which was double the amount of money Nicol had in the Amazon account that she’d lost access to.
On top of that, he said that he’d also be launching a tumbler in his official store, and would send all the proceeds to Nicol and her family to help with her medical expenses.

Luke also added that he couldn’t imagine being in her shoes. He invited Nicol and her family to one of his shows so that he could hug her and say sorry in person.
