Mama June’s husband Justin is turning against her. Now, he’s siding with her daughters in their fight. It all started when Alana – aka Honey Boo Boo – accused Mama June of stealing money from her.
Her older sister Pumpkin found out that there was only $33,000 in Alana’s Coogan account. This account was supposed to have all the money that Alana earned as a child star.
So $33,000 seemed like a pretty small sum. Alana herself said that there should be at least six figures in the Coogan account.

Initially, the sisters were confused about what was going on. They wanted to know where the money was.
Eventually, they found out – and it seemed like it was all Mama June’s fault. She confessed that she owed Alana some money. But she also provided a pretty complicated explanation about what happened with the rest and how she wasn’t actually the villain in all this.
Despite her defenses, not everyone believed her. People still thought that what she did was wrong. I mean, some of the comments that she made about there being high taxes on the money in the account just didn’t make a lot of sense.
So you can see how all this would create a ton of drama in the family. It even caused a rift between Mama June and her husband, Justin Stroud.
He wasn’t happy about Mama June’s behavior. He took Alana’s side in all this.
Justin Isn’t Okay with What Happened
In an episode of Mama June: Family Crisis, he said: “Before it’s all said and done, she’s going to ruin this marriage and her relationship with the kids if things don’t change.” He clearly wasn’t there for all her lies and excuses.
He even accused her of thinking that he was an idiot. After Mama June said that a lot of the money wasn’t there because of high taxes, Justin said: “Cali’s tax is high but it ain’t that high.” He also claimed that Mama June was trying to convince herself that she did the right thing.
He actually said that he wasn’t okay with what happened. And he had a pretty touching reason for that.
It’s obvious that Justin cares about his relationship with Mama June’s daughters. He had this to say: “They look at me like a stepdad and I’m thrown into a bunch of lying and stolen money, she doesn’t understand that it doesn’t just affect her, it affects all of us.”
Justin added that Mama June’s behavior really threatened his relationship with her daughters. He said that it all makes him look like a villain because there is money missing. But obviously, he has nothing to do with that.
He doesn’t want people to think that he does, especially Alana and Pumpkin. He clearly cares about the bond they’ve built, and he doesn’t want to get dragged down by Mama June and her selfish actions.
The good thing about all this is that the girls definitely know where Justin stands on all this. He’s made it very clear to pretty much everyone. This includes Mama June, who he had a pretty explosive argument with.
Alana Accused Mama June of Lying
On Mama June: Family Crisis, we got to see an especially awkward family dinner. Alana was clearly still super upset with Mama June and her actions. She accused her of lying.
Alana later talked to her sister Jessica about the whole thing. Jessica said that she talked to Justin about how things were between him and Mama June.
She said: “He was basically saying she just wanted it to ride out.” But then she added that this might not exactly work out for Mama June. She might have to keep riding out without a husband.

It’s clear that Justin just isn’t okay with her actions. He wants nothing to do with what she did and how she keeps treating the entire situation.
She keeps refusing to take responsibility for what happened. She even seems to think that she should get some credit for how she’s been handling this.
Justin clearly doesn’t agree with this. During one of their arguments, he even told her that it’s not always about her. She doesn’t seem to get his point.
Justin Has Focused on His Sobriety
It’s obvious that their marriage is not in the best place at this point in the show. Even the rest of the family can clearly see this.
When Justin and Mama June walked into the family dinner together, everyone immediately noticed that something was off between them. Alana said that usually, the couple walk in holding hands.
They’re always pretty lovey-dovey, and Justin often dotes on Mama June. But this time, they didn’t walk in like that.
Pumpkin shared her opinion on this. She said: “I think a big part of Justin being so angry at Mama and them arguing and stuff about the money is because Justin is on the right path.” She noted that Justin has been working hard on his sobriety.
He’s been doing really well lately. He’s been surrounding himself with the right people, and cutting out those who lie or aren’t responsible enough.

This has caused issues between Mama June and Justin. If he only wants to be around people who own up to their own mistakes, then Mama June’s behavior must be especially frustrating. She’s his wife, but she’s doing exactly the kinds of things that he doesn’t want anything to do with anymore.
Pumpkin noted that in a way, this could be good for Mama June. She said that someone needs to hold her responsible for the things she’s done.
The rest of the family hasn’t always been the best at doing that. But Justin seems to be doing it now, which might be good.
At the same time, it might not actually help Mama June at all. If she still isn’t willing to take responsibility for her actions despite the pressure from Justin, then things might not actually change. They might just get worse for her.
Mama June and Justin Are at Risk of Divorce
I’m just not sure how long Justin will be able to tolerate all this. Alana and Pumpkin even agreed that divorce could be a possibility for the couple in the future.
They’d never seen Justin yell at Mama June so much before. They believed that he could eventually leave her if she didn’t get her act together.
It’s hard to say what will happen in the future. Obviously, the show was filmed a while ago, so things have probably developed since then. But I think Alana and Pumpkin might have a point.
Right now, Justin seems genuinely fed up with his wife. Things will definitely have to change one way or another. Either she owns up to her actions, or who knows what Justin might do.
It will be interesting to see how all this develops. The best way to deal with all this would be if Mama June actually owned up to what she did and worked with her family to fix things.
But it seems like right now, her strategy is just to wait and see what happens. Justin clearly isn’t a big fan of that plan.
They’ve been married for a little over two years now. It would be a shame if it all ended because of money issues. But at this stage, it looks like this could be a real possibility.
