Kate Middleton has been through hell in 2024. Now, there are insane allegations that Meghan Markle is a diva who wanted to upstage Kate.
Kate made a brief but triumphant return in public on June 15th. A royal expert alleges that Meghan tried to steal the spotlight away from her estranged sister-in-law.
TMZ got the exclusive with the royal expert, Jonathan Sacerdoti. His online bio states that he’s a “British broadcaster and writer” who covers a “wide range of topics,” including “Israeli politics, cultural and religious subjects, and the British Royal Family.”
Meghan’s alleged Royal Family diss is serious news for Jonathan. He told TMZ that Meghan “tried to upstage” Princess Kate at this year’s Trooping of the Colours celebration.
Jonathan appeared on the June 17th edition of “TMZ Live.” He went off on “Meg” and what he called Meghan and Prince Harry’s “royally pathetic” moves.
TMZ reported that Jonathan “slammed” Meghan on TMZ Live and accused her of “trotting out new jams right around the same time” as the annual event in London honoring the King’s “official birthday.” They wrote that Meghan, the “Duchess of Sussex,” has been “called out for launching new products over the weekend as part of her new lifestyle brand.” If that doesn’t sound like proof that Meghan was dissing Kate, TMZ provided a further explanation.
Prince Harry plays polo with an Argentinian male model named Nacho Figueras, nicknamed the “David Beckham of polo.” He’s also buddies with Harry and Meghan. TMZ explained that Nacho did a “soft launch” of Meghan’s new products when he “shared a sneak peek of American Riviera Orchard’s new jam and dog biscuits” on his Instagram on Friday, June 14th.
Jonathan Is Fed Up with Meghan and Harry’s Antics
While Jonathan admitted it “might just be a coincidence,” TMZ wrote that he got “fired up” during their June 17th broadcast. Jonathan even accused Meghan of pulling “a deliberate move” to steal something away from the “Princess of Wales.” In their exclusive report, TMZ didn’t sound convinced that Meghan did anything wrong.
But when Harvey Levin and Charles Latibeaudiere of TMZ interviewed Jonathan on June 17th, Harvey admitted that the Royal Family has “definitely taken their lumps” over shocking accusations that Meghan and Harry have made over the past few years, especially during their infamous Oprah interview. After that lead-in, Jonathan got testy about the Sussexes.
He claimed that “everybody has got fed up with Meghan and Harry and their antics.” Shockingly, Jonathan even alleged that Meghan and Harry “might try and do something to steal the thunder from the Royal Family” around the time of the “King’s official birthday.” However, he didn’t provide any proof that anyone made this prediction.
Still, Jonathan is confident that Meghan tried to upstage Kate. He told Harvey and Charles, “Sure enough, there was a revelation” that Meghan announced new products from her “business.” It was suspicious that this release of “jam and dog biscuits” coincided with Kate’s return during her harrowing cancer battle.
Jonathan threw major shade at Meghan on TMZ Live. However, he didn’t sound too credible when he stumbled through the brand name of Meghan’s lifestyle business.
He incorrectly said the name “American Orchard Riviera” shows the “difference” between Meghan and the Royals. Jonathan referred to Meghan as “pathetic” and lacking “classiness.”
TMZ Questioned Jonathan’s Theory
Charles tried to poke some holes into Jonathan’s super-dramatic conspiracy theory. He told Jonathan, “If Meghan Markle actually thought that her releasing a jam would steal the spotlight away from Kate Middleton returning from a cancer battle… there’s no way she could possibly think that.”
For Charles, there’s only one possible explanation for this new Meghan scandal. He told Jonathan that it was all just a “stupid coincidence.”
While Jonathan agreed that it “could be” just a stupid coincidence, he refused to back down on his insane theory. Then Jonathan added that it “wasn’t just jam” that Meghan was hawking.
Jonathan seriously believes that Meghan was trying to steal Kate’s thunder because she promoted her new “dog biscuits.” Jonathan added, “Who cares about the jam?” Then he really lit into Meghan.
He said, “Do you really think I want the jam from this B-List actress who was once in Suits.” She “married someone,” and that’s the only reason “we know who she is.”
But Jonathan wasn’t quite finished. He ripped into Meghan’s brand, saying, “Who buys jam and dog biscuits from the same company?”
He just wanted to put the “focus” back on the “real Royals,” particularly on Kate and King Charles. As a British journalist and so-called “royal expert,” Jonathan’s opinion is pretty biased. He told Harvey and Charles that “Britain was really pleased” to see Kate at the Trooping of the Colours. “That’s the princess that everybody was looking at this weekend.”
Jonathan sounded like he was “Team Kate” and devoted to the Royal Family on TMZ Live. If you take his one-sided Meghan-bashing out of the equation, he made much more sense when defending Kate in March.
Kate Has Been Surrounded by Conspiracy Theories
The UK’s Express ran a story about the “crazy conspiracy theories” running wild about Kate. Just a few months ago, Kate suffered from negative press worldwide because of that shocking Photoshop scandal and her lack of transparency about why she’d disappeared from public life.
After Kate released a brief video confession about her absence from royal duties due to her shocking cancer battle, Jonathan spoke with Express. He criticized the “nation,” the “press and commentators online,” and also “individuals” who should have given Kate “the space not to have to worry about her reputation, or her appearance, her hair or her clothes, all of the things that people then poured over when the video was released.”
Another shocking article published by Express on March 28th claimed that Kate “trusts royal reporters more than Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.” Express alleged that “Princess Kate did not inform” Harry and Meghan about her cancer “before going public with her video message.” Shockingly, they claimed that “royal reporters were informed an hour and a half beforehand in order to prepare their coverage.”
According to Express, “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex found out at the same time as everybody else.” That’s when Harry and Meghan posted a statement online wishing Kate “health and healing” and also privacy and peace. The Sussexes talked about “peace,” but royal reporters attacked them anyway.
A guy named Richard Eden writes for The Daily Mail. He claimed “it would have been unthinkable” for Kate not to tell her brother-in-law about her health scare “a few years ago.” Richard alleges that “the Sussexes were simply not trusted enough” when they “discovered that their sister-in-law Kate had cancer at the same time as the rest of the world.”
Meghan’s Business Might Have Competition
Meghan might also have a problem with Kate’s own flesh and blood, as reported in another Express article published on March 28th, claiming “Meghan Markle set to clash with Princess Kate’s brother James Middleton over new brand.”
Express confirmed that Meghan had submitted trademark paperwork “at the US Patent and Trademark Office.” Her company logo was “written in flowery gold script above the word Montecito,” the coastal town where they live in California.
Express also reported that Meghan “is also looking to expand into skincare, stationary, and pet products… including pet food, edible pet treats, and bird seed.” Then Express mentioned James’ new business venture.
They claimed that James and Meghan would be “rivals in the pet food industry” because James had “set up his own high-end dog food business called James & Ella.” The name of James’ pet food company is a tribute to his late “therapy spaniel,” a dog named Ella who passed away in 2023. He will sell “raw and cold-pressed dog food, as well as air-dried treats.”
While they’ll both be selling things you can feed your dog, it’s a bit of a stretch to believe a UK paper that claims that Meghan and James will be fierce competitors in business anytime soon!
