Morgan Wallen’s ex Katie Smith has gotten engaged again. On the last weekend of March 2024, she announced the news in a joint Instagram post with her new fiance, Luke Scornavacco. In the post, they each captioned their carousel of photos with the same question- “Why Save The Good Things For Later?”
The pictures were of Luke, Katie, and her three-year-old son at Magnolia Farm in Eagleville, Tennessee. She was in a white dress while Luke wore a black outfit which was accessorized by a matching black cowboy hat and boots.
In the first photo, Luke could be seen down on one knee proposing to Katie with a ring, under an arch made from 1,700 flowers. According to Page Six, the ring was a 6.5-carat cushion-cut lab-grown diamond set on a gold and diamond band. It was estimated that it would have cost Luke around $22,000.
In the second photo, Katie and Morgan’s son Indigo could be seen running towards his mom and future step-dad. Another photo featured Kate, Luke, and Indigo alongside two women, who Taste of Country presumed were the mothers of the couple.
Instagram users left their congratulations and well wishes in the comments section of the post, with some of them also asking Katie to confirm if she was engaged or married, or both. One user pointed out the family members leaving comments about how they couldn’t wait to help plan the wedding.
On April 2nd, Katie uploaded a video of the engagement to her Instagram account. People began commenting that the proposal looked planned.
Katie clarified that she didn’t know what Luke had planned, but she knew it was going to happen. She explained that she had to know when they planned trips because she co-parented, and Luke was respectful.
Luke and Katie Have Been Together Less Than a Year
In the video’s comment section, one online user wrote – “3rd times the charm.” Katie confirmed that it would be the third when she replied to the comment. She added that they were about to be married so it shouldn’t matter.
Page Six revealed that she and Luke have been together since May 2023. A report by Refinery29 talked about how Luke openly talked on his social media about wanting to settle down.
He reportedly captioned a post of himself driving topless in his pick-up truck with “Who else is ready to get married, start a family, and have a nice ranch out in the country?” A few months after he and Katie began dating, he posted a picture of them together on TikTok.
In November 2023, he called Katie the love of his life on Instagram. He said that he was so thankful to have her, and he couldn’t wait to spend forever with her.

Katie dated Morgan on and off for three years before she met Luke. They were briefly engaged in 2019. She gave birth to their son the following year in July.
In a 2021 People Magazine interview, Morgan said he was thankful he shared his son with someone he cared about. And that they were trying to do the best they could with the situation. He went on to say that he and Katie faced some difficulties when they first began co-parenting, but the most important thing was that their son was in their lives.
