Morgan Wallen has had an interesting year in 2024 so far. While he’s had a ton of success with his music, he’s also made headlines for all the wrong reasons. Because of this, the singer has been laying low as of late.
On the music side of things, he’s found a lot of success with his recent single with Post Malone, called “I Had Some Help,” and is currently on his massive “One Night At A Time” tour. Unfortunately, his major accomplishments in music were recently overshadowed by an event that took place on April 7th, 2024.

While attending Eric Church’s new bar in Nashville, Wallen was arrested for throwing a chair off the roof of the bar. Not only that, but the chair narrowly missed a few police officers who were walking below the rooftop of the bar. He would ultimately be charged with three counts of felony reckless endangerment and a single count of misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
He was released quickly following his arrest after he posted his $15,250 bond. After taking time to reflect on the incident and let things cool down, Wallen took to social media to apologize. He said that he wasn’t proud of his behavior and took full responsibility for his actions.
Wallen is Trying to Stay Out of Trouble
However, this isn’t the only negative press that Wallen’s had to deal with recently. In early 2021, he was recorded saying a racial slur on a video filmed during a night out with friends.
While he issued a statement to apologize, several radio stations removed his songs from their rotation. He had his recording contract suspended, and he wasn’t eligible for any Country Music Awards that year. Wallen was also nominated for several awards at the 2021 American Music Awards but wasn’t invited to the show to accept any potential awards.
He eventually made amends and donated funds to the Black Music Action Coalition. His music has since returned to most stations, and he’s won several awards since then.

After this recent problematic behavior and his arrest in 2024, Wallen took a step back out of the public eye. However, he recently returned to social media and posted a video updating fans about his life.
Wallen said he’s been in the studio, is spending more time with his child, and is staying out of trouble. He also tells his fans that his new song is due to arrive soon.
He was recently spotted sitting with former NFL QB Peyton Manning at a Tennessee vs. Texas A&M College Baseball World Series game.
While he’s had his fair share of issues recently, it seems Wallen is doing his best to stay out of trouble. There’s no doubting his popularity in music. But, his problematic behavior often seems to be what dominates the headlines and takes away from his other successes.
