During the recent season of Welcome to Plathville, Olivia and Ethan shared the disappointing news that they were separating after five years of marriage. Olivia has already moved on with someone else, and she has shared all with fans via Instagram.

Olivia opened up to fans via an Instagram Q&A in July. There, she shared more about her new man, including how he is the “best thing since (or before) sliced bread.”
Ethan and Olivia Announced Their Split
The Plaths had been married for five years when they announced their split. Ethan explained in October 2023 that the two originally had the same political and religious beliefs. They were “on the same page” at the time.
That was until recently. Ethan shared that Olivia had been following different beliefs on things that he viewed as fundamental for their marriage to work. With that, they decided that they couldn’t reconcile.

The two shared that they married young and had fallen out of love. This came during Welcome to Plathville Season 5.

Don’t Expect to See Olivia’s New Boyfriend on the Series
Olivia didn’t share the name of the new man in her life. In fact, she even put a photo up with her man’s face being blocked out by a question box.
After sharing that her very public relationship with Ethan brought some major challenges, she has decided to keep this relationship more private. She will share less of it online, but she did say that the two are making a lot of memories.

It would suggest that the new man will not appear in Welcome to Plathville Season 6. This happens with reality shows now and then. Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne actually have three children, though their second daughter refused to be part of their reality show.
Fans are curious, though. They want to know more about this man who puts such a smile on Olivia’s face, and who can blame them?
Separation Was the Best Option for Ethan and Olivia
Olivia shared a little more about the breakdown of her marriage to Ethan in the Q&A. She shared how at 18, when she and Ethan met, she didn’t really know herself.
The two dreamed of what they thought they wanted, but as Olivia has grown up, some of that has changed. She is now deconstructing everything she thought she wanted and rebuilding in a way that serves her now.
Ethan also shared that the two seemed to have different life goals. They were pulling each other in different directions. It was just time to call it quits.
The divorce process is still happening, although in April it was “closed administratively,” according to In Touch. The two had not decided to call the divorce off, so it would suggest that something happened with the paperwork.
They may need to start the official process again, but the two have moved on romantically and emotionally. That didn’t stop the Welcome to Plathville Season 6 premiere hinting at the two potentially getting back together, despite Olivia’s recent Instagram Q&A.
