Rumors are rising regarding Harry and Meghan’s marriage.
Some are claiming Harry really resents his current lifestyle and his wife Meghan. They claim he is ready to reunite with family and friends in the UK, but is being forced to stick to his current script.
Could Harry and Meghan be heading for a breaking point? Here’s what we know:
The Royal Author Cries Foul
Royal author Tom Quinn told The Mirror that Harry had essentially been cut off from his former social life due to his relationship with Meghan, according to Sky News. His words on the matter were:
“Harry…is increasingly bored and looking back across the Atlantic where most of his army and school friends still live and whom he never sees because they won’t visit him in the States because they find Meghan difficult.”
Sky News reported that Tom claimed Harry’s friends resented Meghan for turning him into a “hippy” and making him “woke”. He stated:
“Conservative with both a small and a big C, they see the new Harry as a tree-hugger with whom they have nothing in common.”
According to Hindustan Times, he also stated:
“The truth is that Harry has reinvented himself in a way that just doesn’t work for his family or for friends from the past when he was a very different character.”
‘I Hope They Can Work This Out …’
Is Harry’s transformation good or bad? Is Meghan really to blame for the rift that has formed in Harry’s life?
One supportive commenter on Sky News had the following to add to the conversation:
“I love Harry and Meghan. Their children are beautiful. If there is problems on the home front, I hope they can work this out.
The only thing I can see this far, is it seems every move they have made has been what Meghan wants.
She needs to understand that you can’t plan your life out. She needs to understand marriage is a two way street.”
Prince Harry’s Social Life Has Changed
The Hindustan Times highlights the difference between Harry’s social circle and that of his wife, Meghan. They claim that while Harry has atrophied, his wife’s has blossomed.
But, the couple appear to be as active as ever in the public eye and Harry’s comments regarding his and Meghan’s public engagements seem pretty positive. When interviewed by People about their recent visit to Nigeria, Harry said:
“There’s only so much one can do from home and over Zoom, so we look forward to traveling more because the work matters. Whether it’s the Archewell Foundation, Invictus or any of our other causes, there will always be reasons to meet the people at the heart of our work. […]
I’m so happy with the growth of Invictus and to include Nigeria. […] I’m very happy.”
Although those close to the royal family clearly take issue with Harry and Meghan’s actions, Harry hasn’t mentioned any ill will towards Meghan so far.
A New Day For the Duke and Duchess
According to Express, Hilary Fordwich asserted there was no way for Harry to repair the rift in his family if Prince William has any say in the matter. She said:
“It is widely known within the family that Prince William has laid down an absolute ban on Harry returning in any way, shape or form into his former royal family fold.”
Vogue has a less dramatic take on the situation, going so far as to suggest Harry and Meghan could indeed return to the UK without all of their usual drama someday soon.
