Sammi Giancola has opened up about the nerves she’s feeling about being reunited with her Jersey Shore ex, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro. In a teaser clip for the upcoming episode of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, the reality star confessed to feeling “uneasy.” She can be seen admitting this while waiting for Ronnie with her co-stars, Angelina, JWoww, and Snooki.
In the clip, shared by Entertainment Tonight, Sammi talked about her own surprise at finding herself back on the show. She said, “I honestly never thought I’d be back, let alone be on vacation with my ex.” She went on to add, “So of course I’m gonna be on edge.”

Sammi hoped that everyone could understand her complicated feelings about the whole situation. She explained how difficult she found it to agree to come back.
She said, “It was hard for me to come back in the first place, so I hope they can see where I’m coming from.” Sammi also said it was “definitely harder” being back on Jersey Shore the second time around.
Sammi Didn’t Plan to Come Back
Looking back, it was clear that the idea of returning to the series was not nearly as attractive to Sammi as to the rest of her Jersey Shore family. Sammi starred in Jersey Shore’s original run from 2009 until 2012. However, she did not come back for Family Reunion until its seventh season, which is now airing.
In Touch Weekly reported that Sammi described the world of reality TV as a “roller coaster” and admitted that it sometimes takes a toll on her. Based on this recent clip, it looks like Ronnie was just as nervous about meeting his ex.
The clip showed Ronnie with costars Mike “The Situation,” Pauly D, and Vinny as he prepared to re-enter the house. “Let’s go make this awkward,” joked Vinnie in reference to Ronnie’s return to the show.
Although Ronnie returned for the first season of Family Vacation in 2018, he later left the show in 2021 amid legal problems. It was only after his exit that Sammi started to consider coming back herself.
In February this year, Sammi shared her true feelings about finding out that Ronnie would also be coming back for this season. In a conversation with the outlet TooFab, she expressed that she was not thrilled about coming face-to-face with Ronnie again.
She told TooFab, “Like, it’s not ideal. I wasn’t looking forward to it, but I did know that if I were to come back on this show again, that this could be a possibility.”
Sammi added, “I mean, it’s a given. And I was like, listen, this person doesn’t affect my life anymore.”
She even described being back around Ronnie as being like “just working with a coworker.” Tonight’s the night we will find out if they were really able to put their past behind them.
