What really happened between Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas? The couple were going strong for some time and even had children together, but suddenly saw their relationship screech to a halt.

In an interview for Vogue, Sophie exposes her relationship with Joe for what it was and puts many rumors to rest.

Fans of the couple could keep tabs on their high profile relationship in the media and pass judgment from afar, but the truth would eventually come out. Sophie left little to the imagination in her interview and fans may find the facts to be a real revelation.

Sophie Turner Said, ‘I’m Unhappy With the Way Everything Played Out …’

At just 20 years old, Sophie had never actually been on a date before. She turned up at her first outing with Joe Jonas surrounded by an entourage including her brother and her closest male friends. Apparently, she was worried she might get catfished (misled by an impersonator).

Sophie told Vogue: “Joe had just DM-ed me on Instagram. I brought my brother and all my guy friends because I didn’t know if I was maybe getting catfished.” 

Thankfully, their relationship was no fake and Joe actually proposed to her a year later. At 24, she became a mom too. But, things weren’t always comfortable for her once they moved to LA together.

Sophie said of this period in her life: “You can’t just bump into someone at a bar there, you have to drive 40 minutes with an intention of seeing someone. There was a lot of attention on the three brothers, and the wives. Well, we were always called the wives, and I hated that. It was kind of this plus-one feeling. And that’s nothing to do with him – in no way did he make me feel that – it was just that the perception of us was as the groupies in the band.”

As for their eventual split, Sophie acknowledged her disappointment with the situation, stating: “I’m unhappy with the way everything played out, especially when it comes to my children. They’re the victims in all of this. But I think we’re doing the best we can. I’m confident that we can figure it out. Joe is a great father to our children and that’s all that I can ask for.”

Taylor Swift Supports Sophie 

Sophie received support from an unlikely source in the form of Taylor Swift who offered her and her kids a place to stay in their time of need. Taylor is one of Joe Jonas’s former flames herself, but holds no hard feelings against him or Sophie.

Sophie had this to say about Taylor: “Taylor was an absolute hero to me this year. I’ve never been more grateful to anyone than I am for her because she took my children and me and provided us with a home and a safe space. She really has a heart of gold.”

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas Still on Good Terms

Despite the difficulties, both Sophie and Joe are still on good terms with each other. They even released a joint statement on social media confirming their separation had been amicable.

Sophie dealt with a lot of media pushback and accusations of being an absent parent to her children, but she also had support from other working mothers whom she thanked in her interview by saying: “If something like this had happened to me 10 years ago I don’t think I would have had the same support. I just feel very lucky to be alive in a time when people are open-minded.”
