Tammy Slaton received a lot of compliments about her appearance after she posted a selfie of herself on Instagram in late April.
In Touch Weekly reported that she and her influencer friend, Haley Michelle, shared the picture in a joint post on Instagram. The photo was of them posing in a supermarket aisle, and it was captioned it with, “getting some groceries before our girl’s trip.”
They included the hashtags #1000-Lb.Sisters and #mygirl, but they did not give any details about where they were planning to go on their trip.
Fans Praised Tammy for Her Transformation
The photo has gotten almost 24,000 likes and over 400 comments. A lot of online users reportedly took to the comment section to praise Tammy for the way that she looked.
One user said that it was just crazy to see her transformation, and that they were amazed. Another person commented that Tammy was looking fabulous. A third said that they were so proud of her, to see where she was a few years to where she was now was amazing.
Others complimented her haircut, and her sunflower tattoo that could be seen below her shoulder. But a lot of the comments were about the other person in the photo with Tammy. A lot of people were questioning Haley’s motives for being friends with her.
Some People Questioned Haley’s Intentions
The comment that has received the most likes was a warning from an Instagram user that read: “You better not be using Tammy for the camera time.”
Haley replied to it saying that she and Tammy were friends, and that she had over two million followers on TikTok and didn’t need to use her for anything.

She claimed that they were good friends and that she loved her. Another person asked Haley why she used the hashtag #1000-Lb.Sisters if she didn’t have ulterior motives, and then added, “it’s giving clout chaser.”
Six hours after their selfie was posted, the pair shared another picture of themselves on Instagram which resulted in a similar reaction online.
The photo was of the pair sitting by the pool together in their swimsuits, this time the hashtag was #TammySlatonWeightLoss.
Even though there were still comments from people saying that they were proud of Tammy, the majority were about whether or not Haley was just using her.
Others Shared Their Opinions About Tammy’s Extra Skin
But there were also some users who shared their opinions about what they thought was wrong with the way Tammy looked in it.
One of them said that they knew that Tammy needed to finish losing weight before skin removal, but if she removed now then she could be even happier. Another user also asked if she was going to get her extra skin removed.
According to a report by In Touch at the start of 2024, Tammy talked about how she didn’t appreciate people saying negative things about her appearance. After a TikTok user left a comment that she should fix her teeth, Tammy replied to them personally.
She said that she wished people like them would stop commenting on things like that. It was not helping her confidence.
She went on to share that she was trying to keep her confidence boosted and seeing comments about her chin or her teeth didn’t help.
She also revealed that she really wanted to tell the Tik Tok user that if they had a true problem with her teeth, they should pay for them to get fixed.
But she added that she didn’t want to be that person. She didn’t want to be rude.
In an interview with PEOPLE, Tammy talked about how much her life had changed since she had bariatric surgery in July 2022. She explained that just being able to walk without a walker, or to not have to be pushed in a wheelchair was huge.
In a 2023 Tik Tok video, Tammy told her followers that the surgery had actually done wonderful things for her hair, for her body and for her health. She said that she was proud of herself, and that it was a work in progress.
