After weeks of gossip, Teyana Taylor has finally responded to the rumors about her getting cozy with Leonardo DiCaprio. The chatter around her and Leo went crazy after they were spotted looking pretty flirty during an Oscars pre-party in March.
As reported first on The Jasmine Brand, the A-list actor was seen with one hand wrapped around Teyana’s waist. Many outlets reported seeing the pair continuing an intimate conversation with each other as the party went on, and not paying attention to anyone else.
Fans first started paying attention to what was going on with Teyana and Leo after they started working together on the latest Paul Thomas Anderson movie. They have been filming together in Sacramento, California.
The video of the two enjoying each other’s company at the party soon went viral. But during a recent interview on E! News’ The Rundown, Teyana took the opportunity to put the story to bed.
She explained what was really going on as they chatted at the pre-party. She made it clear that any intimate-looking behavior people had observed between them was totally platonic.
Teyana said, “Leo wore extensions for the movie and they were hurting him. I was literally helping him with his bun.” She added, “And if you’ve seen the end of the video, I said something about cornbread because my chef was cooking for the whole cast.”
She then concluded that everyone was doing what they could to keep Leo happy, saying, “We gotta make sure his bun is right. We gotta make sure he’s eating good.
Teyana Is Making Her Directorial Debut
Other than keeping his wardrobe on point for the movie, Teyana has made it clear that she has only sisterly affection for the 49-year-old Oscar winner. Teyana told The Rundown, “He is like the best. He will cheerlead for you all the way through.”
It could be that Teyana has looked to the experienced filmmaker for advice as she will soon embark on some of the most ambitious projects of her career. Teyana is currently preparing to make her directorial debut on the big screen.
She revealed in her interview, “I just got greenlit to direct my first feature film called Get Lite featuring the incredible Storm Reid. So I’m very, very excited about that.”
Teyana was making sure she was fully appreciating this exciting point in her career, adding, “A lot of good things are happening.” It’s great to see that after a tough 2023 which included splitting from her husband Iman Shumpert, Teyana is now looking forward to new horizons.
