For 17 years, the identical twins got to live a charmed life, until November last year when Cassie Ventura filed a lawsuit against Diddy…
And now their entire world has been shaken to its very core…
You definitely remember where you were when Diddy was arrested in September for a slew of illegal activities…
I absolutely do since I was glued to my screen…
Because no one could have predicted it would have all come to this when that first lawsuit appeared on the horizon…
I definitely don’t think his twins Jessie and D’Lila could have either…
Worse still, the passing of their mother Kim Porter in 2018 means the twins are left without any parent for the time being, with their father in custody…
What’s more, the close relationship Jessie and D’Lila share with their father is no secret…
I mean they got to dance backup for Diddy at the VMAs last year in September when he got to receive the Global Icon Award ….
After all, there aren’t that many other celeb kids who get to share the stage with their famous parents, except for Blu Ivy with her mom Beyonce…
And right afterward Jessie and D’Lila lavished praise on their Dad in an Instagram post calling him their hero and describing him as amazing and iconic …
And yes, the comments on that post have been turned off this time around…
Because attacks from netizens are just another result of the nuclear fallout from Diddy’s problems the twins are having to face…
And some of those comments are definitely insane…
One commenter remarked they were certain the twins didn’t care about Cassie or the other girls as long as they were taken care of…
Another called them nepo babies, declaring they had no right to be everywhere…
I don’t know about you, but it definitely does look like some netizens are taking their anger at Diddy out on his twin daughters…
One thing’s for sure, though. The twins can definitely count on the support of their faithful fans with one telling their accusers they were going too far…
Another declared any negative comments would be reported and removed because kids were off-limits…
Jessie and D’Lila have also moved to protect themselves from negative comments and limited them under their prom posts which had a more positive vibe…
But the truth is the twins cannot protect themselves completely and some commenters are willing to go a lot further…
Such as claiming Diddy was responsible for Kim’s passing, for starters…
If you recall, the twins’ mother, who is also the mother of Quincy and Christian Combs, passed away in 2018 due to pneumonia…
And it goes even deeper…
Because fans are far from the only ones who are suspicious, a few important people are too…
One of them happens to be Kim’s ex-husband Al B. Sure, the father of Jessie and D’Lila’s eldest brother Quincy, who has also called for investigations into her passing…
As a matter of fact, Al called it a tragic case in an Instagram post and alleged that Kim had been set to expose Diddy in the same way Cassie, his ex did…
Al went even further, alleging that those involved in the cover-up of Kim’s passing might also be involved in the passing of several well-known artists…
Few people would be able to guess the other important person who also believes Kim’s passing to be rather suspicious…
That’s because they are none other than Donald Trump’s very own son, Donald Trump Jr…
You heard that right…
Six months ago, in April, Donald Jr., invited podcast host DJ Akademiks’ to Mar a Lago where he declared that not a lot of 47-year-olds passed away from pneumonia…
During that same interview, Donald Jr. also claimed that his ex-wife, Vanessa, who was friends with Kim, was frightened of Diddy and also viewed her passing as suspicious…
Having that old wound reopened so publicly while their father battles for his reputation must be especially hurtful for Jesse, D’Lila, and their brothers Christian and Quincy…
Especially since they must be wondering if they stand to lose the man they call Dad to a lengthy prison sentence with his life’s work in shambles…
I was sure of one thing while watching those allegations fly around from occasionally unexpected sources…
That there was no way anyone would sit back and let other people dredge up painful personal memories and fling around accusations about their loved ones…
It turns out I was right…
In September, the twins and their brothers Quincy and Christian released an Instagram post…
In it, they stated there had been no foul play in their mother’s passing …
The brothers and sisters also debunked claims their mother had written a tell-all book, finally asking for respect for her legacy…
Those wild claims are far from the only issues Jessie and D’Lila are having to face…
The twin sisters also have to deal with the pain of knowing their father has been denied bail and the new reality of only being allowed a brief phone call to speak to him…
That said, there has been a silver lining of sorts where they got to visit Diddy less than a month after his arrest in the company of their grandmother, Janice Combs…
However, it may really not be much of one…
Because I’m definitely sure visiting their father under those circumstances in a jail described as a living hell must be heartbreaking…
What’s more, it’s one thing to be able to protect yourself from angry netizens, and quite another to face the anger of the public in real life…
And that is precisely what Jessie and D’Lila discovered when they attended court with their siblings and Janice…
Because when they arrived at the federal court for the hearing on 10 October, crowds of spectators and journalists were ready and waiting…
The twins however remained stoic in spite of the heckling holding hands and putting on a united show of support for their father along with their brothers…
And this is just the beginning…
Because if Diddy is convicted he would face a minimum of 15 years in jail or life at the most…
There is also the issue of what will happen to his immense empire built over decades and once estimated at one billion dollars…
Should that crumble to dust, the twins may lose both their provider and protector who they love dearly…
And Diddy may not be the only one in hot water…
Jessie and D’Lila’s brothers Justin Dior and Christian Combs have also been mentioned in the lawsuit…
What that means is that there is a possibility that they too may end up behind bars meaning the girls may not only lose their father but two of their big brothers…
The one thing I did expect in the wake of all this was for friends and family to rally to support Jessie and D’Lila…
And am I glad I was right!
Kimora Lee Simmons, a close friend of their mother Kim, promised to protect the twins in the wake of disturbing evidence of Diddy subjecting ex-girlfriend Cassie to DV …
Jessie and D’Lila definitely see Kimora as mom since she has cared for them since their own mother Kim passed away…
But we all know the saying that it takes a village to raise a child, or two teens in this case…
So just who else is there looking out for the twins?
Kimora’s daughter Aoki Lee Simmons has also declared her dedication to protecting her friends’ privacy in a live video…
And that means she won’t be answering any questions about them whatsoever, not unless they’ve spoken about it themselves, first of all…
There is also another special someone taking care of the girls right now…
That person is none other than Kim’s bestie, Lawanda Lane who in an Instagram post in March promised to hold Kim down forever…
Lawanda’s presence will definitely provide stability to Jessie and D’Lila who are in their final year of high school…
And that, I believe, is certainly a blessing…
Because believe me, when you have to endure the curious gaze of your schoolmates, having a much-loved figure around can make a world of difference…
I wasn’t surprised to find out that the girls were looking to move house either…
According to The Sun US, the girls were recently spotted house hunting in LA with Lawanda…
Abandoning the family home must be a difficult decision and a sign of the upheaval the girls must be experiencing …
Especially in light of the special memories it must hold for them….
Watching their father’s world and theirs come apart at the seams must be especially trying for the twins…
And I wonder if there is perhaps a glimmer of hope…
