In so many ways, Miranda Lambert and her younger husband, Brendan McLoughlin, seem like a crazy and totally opposite match. But allegedly, these two have one scandalous thing in common. Both of their exes have accused them of cheating.

One thing’s for sure: Miranda and Brendan’s meet-cute in Manhattan was straight out of a romance novel! USA Today reported how Brendan got introduced to Miranda’s celebrity world, why they seemingly work as a couple, and who played matchmaker in the first place. The USA Today article revealed what Miranda told the New York Times about her unexpected meeting with her future husband in Times Square.
Miranda was in New York to appear on ‘Good Morning America’ with her girl group, Pistol Annies. As she told the Times, she remembers that time well because their record “came out the day after Halloween.”
On November 2, 2018, Pistol Annies was interviewed on GMA and performed for fans on stage outside the studio. Miranda revealed that her future husband “was doing security there for the show.” But Brendan was more than just a security guard. When he met Miranda, he was a 23-year-old New York City police officer, and she was a 31-year-old divorced country music superstar.
A Reverse Cinderella Story
It’s interesting that the Pistol Annies performed the lead single off their new record, “Got My Name Changed Back.” According to Taste of Country, the song is a “sassy take on divorce,” and most people assumed it was Miranda’s diss track to her famous ex-husband, Blake Shelton.
But Blake wasn’t on anyone’s mind after Miranda’s bandmates, Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley, got one look at Brendan wearing his NYPD uniform in the crowd. Miranda told the Times that her “girlfriends, the Annies,” saw Brendan and figured to themselves that she “might be ready to hang out with someone” like him.
It sounded like ‘reverse Cinderella’ when Miranda revealed that Ashley and Angaleena invited Brendan to the Pistol Annies show without Miranda knowing anything about that. She told the Times, “They plucked him for me.”
Apparently, Miranda’s personal security guard approved of the ‘hot cop,’ too. Miranda explained, “My security guy Tom, he was in on it too,” and Tom said to Miranda, “He’s here. And he’s pretty.”
Brendan and Miranda Only Dated for Three Months
Us Weekly took a deep dive into Miranda and Brendan’s short dating life and quickie wedding. They revealed that Miranda told SiriusXM in February 2021 that she and Brendan “didn’t date very long before we got married.”
Miranda wasn’t joking! Us Weekly confirmed that she and Brendan “exchanged vows” in January 2019 after dating for barely three months.
Miranda claimed that she and her new husband “really, really, really” got to know each other with “no distractions” on her Tennessee farm outside of Nashville. She claimed, “I was really thankful for it because it made us really strong.”
Miranda did keep her second marriage quiet for a few weeks. On February 16, 2019, she posted on Instagram that she wanted to “share some news.”
Miranda wrote that she was revealing this shocking news “in honor of Valentine’s Day.” She dropped the bombshell she’d met “the love” of her life, and they got “hitched.” Her post ended by admitting, “My heart is full. Thank you, Brendan McLouglin, for loving me for… Me.”
No one is saying that Miranda shouldn’t enjoy a storybook romance like this, but this is real life. She forgot to mention a few insane details about her hot young husband and the love of her life.
Brendan Has a History of Cheating
Us Weekly reported Brendan was a father. Shockingly, his “first child, son Landon,” was born just three days after he met Miranda for the first time.
An Us Weekly report published a few days after Miranda revealed her second husband on Instagram gave a revealing look into his scandalous love life. According to the “mom” of one of Brendan’s jilted lovers, he was engaged to her daughter when he cheated and got another woman pregnant.

The mom, Carol Bruno, told Us Weekly that her daughter, Jackie Bruno, was “blindsided” when Brendan cheated on her with Kaihla Rettinger. Carol said that Jackie “was thrown for a loop; she had no clue” when her fiance got another woman pregnant.
Even more shocking, Carol alleged that Brendan tried to keep it under wraps. It was Kaihla who dropped the bombshell that she was having Brendan’s baby.
According to her mom, Jackie was “in Sweden playing professional soccer,” but Jackie got injured and “came home.” Then, Carol alleged that “the girl contacted her” and broke the devastating news.
Carol threw major shade at Brendan, claiming he “tried to deny it.” Allegedly, he “begged” Jackie to stay with him.
Blake Dissed Miranda in a Song
The allegations of Brendan’s heartless cheating on a former fiance were bad enough. But how does it compare to Miranda’s even more infamous cheating scandals?
After their shocking split in 2015, Blake wasn’t shy about dropping hints that he believed Miranda hadn’t been faithful during their marriage. In a People.com article that was updated several years ago, Blake claimed he was getting “really candid” about his nasty breakup with Miranda.
There was a song on Blake’s album If I’m Honest called “She’s Got a Way with Words.” Someone interviewing Blake asked him if the “lover who lied and cheated” in the song was a diss at Miranda. His shocking answer to that question sounded like he really wanted to set the record straight.
He said when he recorded vocals for “some of these songs,” he was “only six months removed from when all the crap went down.” He didn’t mention her name, but Blake added, “You can learn some facts of my divorce. Maybe not specifics, but you can get a general idea about it.”
Blake explained that he needed to get his “broken heart” out of his system. Shockingly, he confessed that he wanted people to “sympathize” with him. He revealed, “I was at rock bottom, in the middle of hell.”
Miranda Rarely Talks About Landon
Somehow, Miranda and Brendan made it through those insane cheating allegations, not to mention the scandal of his son being born to another woman just days after he met Miranda. Several months after their wedding, Us Weekly reported that Brendan supported Miranda at “her annual Mutt March in Nashville.” Miranda is committed to animal rescue and being a “dog mom.”
But Miranda did make a revealing comment to Extra about being a stepmom—listen closely to this. She told Extra, “My stepson is amazing,” and she was “loving that whole phase.”
Miranda explained that she’d “raised a million dogs” and that the “womanly/motherly” part of her life was “full.” It seemed like Miranda was setting the record straight on having kids of her own when she revealed, “Hey, I got the dogs, you got the kid, we can mix and mingle.”
Hello! Magazine reported last year that Miranda had “reunited” with her “rarely seen stepson” during a visit to the Big Apple. According to Hello!, Miranda and Brendan’s family plans were also still up in the air. Landon was four years old, and the outlet claimed that “Miranda rarely talks about Landon, especially amid current rumors of the couple trying for kids of their own.”
Brendan Gives Miranda Her “Harsh Reality”
Whether or not Miranda and Brendan do have kids together, they allegedly “delighted” their fans “with a rare glimpse of their life together at Brendan’s home in New York.” USA Today also reported this year that Miranda had appeared on the Tamron Hall show. On it, she dropped a bombshell about her marriage.
Miranda told Tamron that Brendan always tells her the “truth.” That might sound pretty tame, but Miranda claims Brendan gives her “harsh reality, and I love it.”
According to Miranda, everybody needs a “truth-teller” in their life. She also said that Brendan is “very New York” about telling her the whole truth and nothing but the truth. USA Today even described Brendan’s honesty as “blunt.”
As hot as he is, Brendan does more than pose shirtless for thirst traps on Miranda’s Instagram. He fills his Instagram with plenty of gushing posts about his wife. When Miranda celebrated her 40th birthday, Brendan gave her an especially loving tribute on social media.
Brendan wrote that he was the “lucky one because 40 has never looked so good.” He revealed how thankful he was to “stand beside” Miranda “for yet another year around the sun.”
He added that Miranda shouldn’t change for anyone. Brendan finished by writing to his wife, “The world is [a] much better place with you in it.”
