During the Mexico City premiere for Bad Boys: Ride or Die, fans worried about Martin Lawrence’s health. Is the actor facing issues with his health, or were the concerns just a mistake?
While at the premiere, Lawrence and Will Smith were greeting fans from the top of a balcony. As Lawrence stepped out, Smith grabbed his hand, making it look like the 59-year-old actor was unsteady on his feet. Lawrence continued to concern fans as he grabbed Smith for support.

He also seemed confused about where he should go. Smith was there to help him, and he showed no concern on his face in the video. The Men in Black actor has not mentioned any concern about his friend’s health, either.
Martin Lawrence was Shocked By the Number of People Attending
As fans worried that Lawrence’s health was failing, he spoke out to say that wasn’t the case. He is in good health and was unsteady for another, understandable reason. Lawrence was in shock by the number of people who turned out for the Bad Boys 4 premiere event.
In Touch reports that he went on Ebro Darden’s show at Hot 97 to talk about the event, sharing that it was “rock concert stuff.” Despite all his years as an actor, he has never seen a crowd like that.

It was overwhelming for him. He couldn’t believe that so many people would turn up just for a movie.
Many of those who have seen the movie itself have praised it. There are many comments about actors being too old to reprise former roles, but that is not the case with the Bad Boys 4 installment. Lawrence and Smith continue to prove they can do all the action they need.
Martin Lawrence’s Health Problems Explained
The fears were also noted in May 2024. CommingSoon reports that while in an Extra TV interview in May 2024, Lawrence mispronounced some words and fans thought he was slurring. This recent red carpet event has fans connected back to that, but it’s not just recent footage that has fans worried.
Fans worry about their favorite actors, especially when they have a history of health problems. Twice during the 1990s, Lawrence was diagnosed with heat exhaustion and dehydration. Many fans worried the same thing was happening at the Bad Boys: Ride or Die premiere event.
In 1996, Lawrence was hospitalized after he ran out in traffic shouting and swearing. In 1999, he was in a three-day coma after collapsing. Both were attributed to heat exhaustion.
However, he doesn’t want fans to worry about him. Lawrence shared: “I’m in God’s hands. I’m blessed. You know, I’m glad to be waking up every day. I’m all good, though. No need for people to be concerned.”
He did go on to request that people “stop the rumors” about his health problems, according to Variety. There is nothing wrong with him. Lawrence has nothing else to share, and he makes it clear that fans mistook his shock at the crowd for a medical issue.
