Who is Pumpkin?
Lauryn Efird (formerly Shannon and soon-to-be-formerly Efird), who goes by the nickname Pumpkin, is a reality television star. She made her television debut on “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” and its subsequent spin-offs. She is the daughter of Mama June and sister to Anna “Chickadee” Shannon-Cardwell, Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon, and Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson. She has four children and plans to have more.
Pumpkin recorded the song “Moving Up” with Honey Boo Boo. In 2019, she filed to become Honey Boo Boo’s legal guardian in the wake of her mother and then-boyfriend Geno getting arrested for drug-related charges.
Currently, Pumpkin owns the online clothing store The Sisters Closet.
Who is Pumpkin’s New Boyfriend?
As of August 2024, it appears that Pumpkin is now dating Darrin Kitchens. Darrin is a Macon, Georgia native and is an equipment operator. He works at Vulcan Materials Company, according to his Facebook page.
24-year-old Pumpkin debuted her relationship with Darrin earlier in August 2024 in a Facebook post. “Zach Bryan tonight, How lucky are we 💕” the post is captioned.
In the post, the pair were attending a Zach Bryan concert. Darrin also went with Pumpkin on a work-related trip to Las Vegas this year as well. Fans took to the Facebook post to congratulate Pumpkin on her new and seemingly happy relationship.
“You deserve happiness!!! Enjoy the show and enjoy your company.. hope you and josh are still on good terms because ya’ll DID weather a LOT of storms together..” said one fan.
Pumpkin filed for divorce from her ex Josh Efird earlier this year after six years of marriage. They share custody of their four children.
The Drama Behind Pumpkin’s New Beau
Fans are worried about Pumpkin’s new boyfriend. According to reports, Darrin currently has four different small claims judgments against him in the state of Georgia. The first judgment was filed in 2016 by Darrin’s former landlord for an undisclosed amount of money. The second judgment comes from Midland Funding LLC. This collections company deals with unpaid debt and filed a claim for $1,443 against Darrin in 2019.
The third judgment is from a construction company called WP Land Management. That claim is for $4,667. Darrin’s baby mama Leann Reynolds is also on that judgement. The final judgment comes from Credit Acceptance Corporation, which is an automobile financing firm. That claim is for a whopping $14,060.
There is another interesting thing about Darrin. He was married three times… to the same woman. Darrin married his first wife, Shannon, in 2020. They remarried and divorced three times until divorcing (possibly) for good in 2024.
So, is it a match made in heaven? It makes sense why Pumpkin fans are a little worried about the reality TV star’s new relationship. However, additional details about Darrin’s debt, as well as his severe on-and-off-again relationship with his wife, have not been made public.
