Faith Hill is one of the most successful, and recognizable country musicians of all time. Her husband, Tim McGraw, is similarly a bonafide country legend, and together, the two of them are a near-unstoppable force. Even though Hill hasn’t released an album since a 2017 joint affair with Tim, she still maintains a fairly strong presence in the spotlight.
In 2021, Faith and Tim were two of the main stars of the TV limited series 1883: A Yellowstone Origin Story. But recently, Faith has left fans confused and worried as she unexpectedly deleted her social media accounts.
So what’s going on behind the scenes? Is something going on with Faith and Tim? Let’s dive into it!

No one knows for sure when Faith specifically deactivated her accounts, but some fans caught on to it fairly quickly.
One user on Twitter asked the following on August 12th. “How come no one has noticed that Faith Hill deleted her Instagram page? What’s up with that?”
To this post, another user replied, “We’ve noticed… Twitter and Facebook too.” Once fans discovered that her social media platforms had seemingly vanished- the rumor mill began to circulate.
Tim and Faith Balance Each Other Out
Some fans were quick to wonder if something was going on between Faith and her husband, Tim McGraw. While Faith and Tim have yet to say anything publicly denying these rumors, the two seem to be doing just fine.
Around a month ago, Popculture posted an article about Tim and Faith’s relationship. The article detailed Tim and Faith’s biggest disagreements over the years, and how they’ve overcome them. According to Tim himself, most of the couple’s disagreements come in the form of squabbles over music issues.
Tim said, “I mean we’re two different artists. We don’t always agree, musically. In fact, some of our biggest disagreements come when we’re putting a tour together…”
Tim continued on to say that Faith is a very “type-A” person, while he isn’t. Or, in other words, Tim said that Faith is always cleaning up his messes.
While Tim is on the looser side, he says that the two tend to switch roles when playing shows. Faith tends to free-wheel their performance plans a bit, while Tim is more rigid.
But these balances in both their personal and professional lives make them a stronger pair. Tim said that even though they may knock heads over touring every once in a while, they always sort out their differences. He goes on to say that regardless of the circumstances, they always love touring together.
Tim and Faith’s Relationship Is Strong
After saying all of this about their touring lives, Tim went on to praise his wife.
Tim said, “She’s my biggest fan, I’m her biggest fan… I play music for her all the time… Like I said, we don’t always agree. There’s songs that I’ve loved and put on an album that she goes, ‘Ah, I don’t think I would put that on an album.’ And vice versa.”
He continues on to say that he’s learned to trust Faith completely and support her suggestions. So it would seem that the two don’t just balance each other out, they also make each other better musicians.

From this article and how recently it came out, it would seem that Tim and Faith are doing just fine. While Tim only posts about Faith on his Instagram every so often, every time he does, it’s in a very loving manner.
So, if nothing’s going on with Tim and Faith, what caused Faith to delete all of her social media accounts?
The same Twitter user who was quick to point out her absence may hold the answers. In another tweet, shortly after, they said: “I hope it (her absence) means new music…”
Other users quickly rallied around this theory, sharing their own thoughts on the platform. Another user said, “It’s sad enough Faith Hill has ghosted us when it comes to new music but social media too?”
Faith Had a Wildly Successful Career
These tweets, and many other reports may indicate that Faith Hill is working on new music. This would be a long time coming as Faith Hill hasn’t released her own music in some time.
Faith rose to mass fame and prominence throughout the 1990s and early 2000s. Over nearly a decade and a half, Faith was nominated for seventeen Grammys and won five. In 2001, she was even nominated for an Academy Award for an original song she wrote for the film: Pearl Harbor.
After a wildly successful solo career, Faith seemed to take something of a step back. She released compilations of greatest hits, a Christmas album, duets with Tim McGraw, and even did a residence in Las Vegas, but, Faith Hill hasn’t released a solo album since her 2005 album, Fireflies. In fact, Faith hasn’t released any new music at all since her 2017 duet album with Tim McGraw.
Outside of music, Faith has been digging her teeth into more acting roles. Her tenure on 1883: A Yellowstone Origin Story alongside her husband was widely praised.
Now, after nineteen years of no new solo music, and seven years of no music at all, fans are beginning to wonder if she’s making a big-time comeback. According to a recent Taste of Country article, Faith has been hinting at a return to music for years.
Faith Previously Attempted a Comeback
Around 2010, Faith was hinting at a return to form with a major album release. Faith was referencing an album entitled Illusion and even released a few singles. In 2011, it was reported by Reuters that Faith had gone back into the recording studio to work on said album.
Around the time, in an interview, Faith said: “I would like to have a record out… but it hasn’t been the right thing yet. I don’t want it to be just another record. It’s a lot of work to support a record, so I just want it to be… really great.”
Faith also acknowledged after this that it’s been difficult making another record with all the changes in her life. She said that at some point her focus had to shift towards focusing on her family and raising her children.
But still, in the early 2010s, it seemed that Faith was poised to make a comeback with Illusion. Over the course of the year, Faith released and performed several singles from the album including “Come Home,” “Illusion,” and finally “Overrated.”
Then, in late 2012, Faith released a final single along with a music video entitled “American Heart.” But alas, no more singles were released after this, and the album never saw the light of day.
Taste of Country speculates that a sound shift from Faith’s earlier work to these Illusion singles left some fans disillusioned.
The website also reported that in the aftermath of the Illusion fiasco, Faith left her record label at Warner Music Nashville, and moved over to Sony. According to Sony’s website, Faith is still listed as one of their licensed artists.
There Are Rumors of a “Breathe” Re-Release
So, could all of this social media fuss just be an effort to get fans excited for new music? Possibly, but there’s one more major theory that some fans are latching on to.
In November, Faith’s Breathe album is going to turn twenty-five years old. Some fans have speculated that she’s going to do something in conjunction with the popular album’s anniversary.
Whether it’s a re-release, a re-issue, or a tour in honor of the album- fans are eager to know. Breathe is one of the best-selling country albums of all time, and would definitely warrant a special celebration.
But at this point in time, we simply do not have an answer as to why Faith deactivated her social media accounts. It’s fairly certain that this has nothing to do with Faith and Tim’s relationship.
Perhaps, it’s coinciding with the release of new music or the promotion of an oldie but a goodie. Or maybe at the end of the day, Faith just needed a break from the hustle and bustle of social media.
Until Faith returns, or we hear anything from her ourselves, it’s hard to speculate on what it could all mean.
